Indian singer, lyricist, and composer, Darshan Raval is known for songs such as ‘Chogada’, ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’, and ‘Kamariya’. He is a big contributor to the independent music scene in the country. Some of his other credits are for songs like ‘Tera Zikr’, ‘Tu MIleya’, ‘Judaiyaan’, etc. His recent release, ‘Duniya Chhor Doon’ is dedicated to his fans who call themselves the Blue Family.
About his new song, he said, “It’s audio, so people have the opportunity to love the song everywhere on every platform. Right now there is no video, but a video might come in the near future. But right now there is none because I want people to focus on what is written and what is sung.” About his transition from sad songs to happy songs in 2021, he said, “Last year I did a lot of sad songs, ‘Asal Mein’,’ Tum Nahi Ho Mere’, ‘Ek Tarfa’, and then an entire album called ‘Judaiyaan’. The entire year I did sad songs. Then I promised all the fans that it was too much heartbreak now and for the next year, 2021, we are going to do happy songs. So I started with ‘Rabba Mehr Kari’ which was also a dedication to all the fans. Then ‘Jannat Ve’ is a pure dedication to the Blue Family. Again ‘Duniya Chhor Doon’ is a very beautiful and loving romantic number. There is no sadness in it. It speaks about what we do and what all we can do to express our love. I am singing it but it feels like all my fans singing it for me. My melody is inspired by the emotions and the love expressed by my fans. They are the reason we could make this song.”
He also shared about the making of the song, “My process of songs is very long. I worked on this song for 4-5 months. Then there are times when I make a song and keep it aside because you are not able to complete the song. Even for ‘Duniya Chhor Doon’, I made the first half of the song, and then I took a break of 2-3 months and then created the second half of the song.”
He reveals that he will be planning on incorporating new elements and sounds in his music for the upcoming years. He is also aiming for a production that works not just for the Indian audience but also globally.
