Neha and Sonu Kakkar’s brother Tony Kakkar has dropped a new single, ‘Number Likh’ winning the hearts of his fans. The music video of the track features Bogg Boss-famed Nikki Tamboli. Released on June 18th, the track has acquired 48 million views and 972k likes on YouTube.
Tonny Kakkar has said that the pressure to do something better than his previous tracks has always inspired him to do better in every song. He gives his best to make his songs bigger and better than the earlier ones. He said he always stays true to his art. It brings out the uniqueness that sets an artist apart. He says that one must stay honest and the expectations to do better will give them the power to do better.
Based out of Rishikesh, the singer-songwriter later moved to Delhi in 1990. His sisters Sonu, Neha, and he used to sing at jagratas. They moved to Mumbai in 2004 and he started his musical education there. He debuted as a music director in the 2012 Bollywood film, ‘Bhatti On Chutti’. He has also his own record label, Desi Music Factory, founded in 2015 with Anshul Garg.
The 37-year-old musician has given back-to-back hits like, ‘Bijli ki taar’, ‘Goa beach’, ‘Car mein music bajaa’, ‘Chocolate’, ‘Tera suit’, ‘Das ki karaan’, ‘Booty shake’, and many more over the years. Though Tony has faced backlash on social media for his repetitive lyrics, he says his musical journey has been quite satisfying.
Tony currently has more than 408k followers on Twitter and over 8 million followers on Instagram. He recently said that he is fully satisfied with his musical career. According to him, it is all about being open to development and working hard. He said that he is inspired by his sister Neha about it. She has made many hit songs in almost every genre.
