Know Everything About the Nickelodeon Stars Turned Successful Musicians, the Jonas Brothers

Starting as a popular boy band got broken, Jonas Brothers came back after 10 long years and reclaimed success. Here are their important steps in this journey.

The Jonas Brothers, as the name suggests is a band of brothers who mainly work with their pop-rock sounds. The band was formed in 2005 and since then they have gone through a breakup and then a successful reunion, here are some of the most memorable and important stages of this journey.

 As mentioned before the band was founded in 2005 in Wyckoff, New Jersey, U.S. With three members, Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas, the band mainly makes songs in the genres of Pop, Pop Rock, Rock, Pop Punk, etc. In the first run, Jonas Brothers were active from 2005 till 2013 followed by a breakup. Nick and Joe Jonas went ahead in their solo music careers which Nick continued as a solo vocal artist and Joe formed DNCE, a rock band with three others. In 2019, the members got back together and have been making and releasing music under the band’s name, Jonas Brothers since.

Pre-acting: 2005 – 2007

 In 2005, Kevin, Joe, and Nick recorded their first-ever song “Please Be Mine” which later got them signed under the label of Columbia Records. They were signed together as a band and even considered to be named as the “Sons of Jonas”, before eventually settling down on the name of “Jonas Brothers”. The band toured with artists such as Backstreet Boys, Kelly Clarkson, The Click Five, Jesse McCartney, and others while also working on their debut album. They released their debut studio album “It’s About Time” on 8 August 2006, featuring tracks like ‘Please Be Mine’, ‘What I Go to School For’, ‘I Am What I Am’, ‘7.05’, etc. The band then was dropped by Columbia Records in early 2007 and then was signed by Hollywood Records in February 2007. It was in this year, the band released the infamous ‘Jonas Brothers’ studio album and started to make their first TV appearances. The band got starred in an episode of the Disney Channel hit show Hannah Montana, titled “Me and Mr. Jonas and Mr. Jonas and Mr. Jonas”. ‘A Little Bit Longer‘, the third studio album by the Jonas Brothers came in 2008 and the acting career of the three members of the band started to take off.

2008, Camp Rock, and much more:

In the summer of the year 2008, the band and its three members starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie ‘Camp Rock’, followed by its sequel ‘ Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam’. In the movies, they played the roles of the band members which was named Connect Three. In the movies, the lead male role was played by Joe Jonas who was also the lead singer Shane Gray. Nick Jonas also played quite an important role of Nate, a guitarist and Kevin played the role of Jason, another guitarist. The huge success of both movies got them their own Disney TV show where they starred as Kevin, Joe, and Nick Lucas, along with their band named JONAS, after which the show was named. The show was then rebranded as Jonas L. A for its second season and canceled after just two seasons.

The band returned to music once again and released their fourth studio album ‘Lines, Vines and Trying Times’ in 2009. About the title in an interview with Rolling Stone they stated “Lines are something that someone feeds you, vines are the things that get in the way, and trying times, well, that’s obvious.”

Hiatus and then split:

 In 2011, two years after releasing their fourth studio album as Jonas Brothers, the band went on a hiatus to focus on solo music careers. During this time Kevin Jonas studied music production, Joe Jonas released his debut album ‘Fastlife‘ and Nick Jonas went on a tour with his band ‘Nick Jonas & the Administration’.

In 2012, after two years of officially working together, the band announced a new tour, the ‘World Tour 2012/2013’. During the reunion tour, the band sang and released several new tracks like ‘Meet You in Paris’, ‘Wedding Bells’, ‘Neon’, ‘First Time’, etc. In 2013, after canceling 23 shows, the band confirmed their official split.

In 2019, the band shocked the entire world with the news of their comeback. Their comeback album was titled ‘Happiness Begins’, the first one in 10 years, and helped the band score their third No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The album had the lead single ‘Sucked’, published under Republic Records, and reached the no. 1 hit on Billboards with around 88,000 copies sold in the first week of its release. In 2021, the band embarked on their eleventh headlining tour, the ‘Remember This Tour’, consisting of 44 dates followed by a 5-dates residency show in Las Vegas and a second 3-date residency in 2022. In 2023, the band released their sixth studio album ‘The Album’ with tons of other new projects and collaborations.
