Korean Pop Band BTS Rules all the Big Titles at the Melon Music Awards This Year

Global sensation and K-pop band BTS has won the top titles in all the three major categories at the Melon Music Awards on Saturday, for the 2nd time in a row.

This year’s Melon Music Awards that was held on Saturday saw Korean pop band BTS swiping the awards in all the three major categories for the second year in a row. They were awarded Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for their fourth album, ‘Map of the Soul: 7’, and also the Song of the Year’ for ‘Dynamite’. They had also won all these three categories last year as well which was held by Kakao M that operates the online music store, Melon. Apart from these awards, the band also won the Best Dance in Male award for the song ‘Dynamite’ and also the Netizen’s Choice Award. They were attributed as one of the Top 10 Artists of 2020 by Melon and ended up taking home six awards.

The song ‘eight’ by IU also won an award in the Best Rock category and BTS’s Suga was one of the collaborating artists for the song. RM, the band’s leader said in their acceptance speech that they missed performing for their fans but were also thankful that they could connect with their audience through their creative pursuits. Over time, the band is expanding towards an exponential degree and these awards only speak for their creative accomplishments.
