Roberto Albano d’Alexàndria’s Occitan EP ‘La dança dels sords’ Is a Masterpiece

Relive the classical music and get a taste of Occitan language with Roberto Albano d'Alexàndria’s latest five-track instrumental EP, titled ‘La dança dels sords’.

There are a few musicians who are able to churn out deeper emotions through their instrumental creations and Roberto Albano d’Alexàndria is one of them. This talented composer as well as a pianist has come up with his latest EP ‘La dança dels sords’, a five-track musical project. It is based on the Occitan language which is mainly spoken in Southern France, Catalonia in Spain as well as Piedmont in Italy which is Roberto’s homeland. Dedicating to the native mother tongue, each track from the album as well as the title is named in the Occitan language. He did an amazing job in crafting this EP that puts a long-lasting impact on the listeners.

The title ‘La dança dels sords’ means ‘The dance of the deaf’ which perfectly justifies the turmoil of emotions and feelings present in the musical project. The track ‘La debuta’ means ‘the beginning’, then comes ‘La bruma’ which means the fog. There are also ‘Arbres petrificats’ meaning petrified trees and then ‘Glaç, tèrra e nèu’ which refers to ‘ice, earth, and snow’. Quite evidently, the whole EP offers a progression of life and feelings with references to nature. Even the artwork in the EP by ClarArt Creations is a depiction of Sestriere, an Occitan-spoken area.
