Cover songs are an integral part of the music industry. By covering a particular soundtrack one can really get success and fame. Every musician can recreate and do their version of the song. It has been seen that an artist is acquiring success by doing a cover of an already established song. This way they get to try out various things and experiment with them. By doing so, the legacy of the original song stays maintained.

A lot of time people are unaware of a classic masterpiece and after cover, they get to explore the real one. Sometimes it also response the exact opposite thing, that a cover song becomes an absolute flop. It has happened plenty of times that the soundtrack is a complete mess. Doing a cover of a popular song every now and then artists fail epically and do a disaster.

This cover song was done with a whole different purpose. It was created with the goal of raising money for the charity Comic Relief. In that part, the song has really helped but if you look at it from the perspective of music and art then it is not very pleasing. the original track was a collaboration between The Aerosmith and Run-DMC, which is considered one of the most promising tracks of that genre but this cover song is nothing the same as the previous one. But after listening to the covered one the listeners have said it is more mockery than a tribute to the original track.

Avril Lavigne is a singer who achieved success at a very early age, with the album ‘Let Go’. But it is not like she has never experienced failure. There were a lot of ups and downs in her musical career and ‘Imagine’ is one of them. She sang this song for the compilation of the charity album, where they did a cover of John Lennon’s songs. Here in this song, she tried to keep up with the true elements of the original song but couldn’t manage to. In front of the original song, it fades out immediately.

4. Boys Are Back In Town by Happy Mondays:

Their recreation of ‘Boys Are Back In Town’ is a massive fail. This cover did nothing like the original one and become unsuccessful with the project. It is probably their worst creation ever in their career.

Take That is the boy band who did a cover of Nirvana. They were at the peak of their career in 1995 and become hugely famous all around the world. But their cover of the track ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ is something that they shouldn’t be known for because it is considered that much worse. This particular creation of them did not make any good impression on the audience. The edgy side of the act didn’t work out at all. Their unpleasant performance made it even more worst.

6. My Generation by Hilary Duff:

Hilary Duff is a pop and rock singer who is also an actress. She has missed not a single chance to prove her worth. It doesn’t matter whether it is good or bad, but she experimented with every possible thing. Her rendition of ‘My Generation’ is a piece of music that is better if you do not listen to it. Her unpleasant vocal has made it worse. It has definitely disappointed her rock music fans. It resulted a downfall in her career.
