Recently Spotify announced that the company is retiring from its car view feature that they have launched in 2019. In this mode, the app essentially was offering enlarged skip and play/pause buttons as well as the less cluttered view would help the drivers to avoid any distractions. Inspiring by this fantastic feature Amazon has also rolled out their version of car view mode on the Amazon Music App earlier this year. According to Spotify, the company is working on the alternative of this feature but there is no clarity over their rollout. This Swedish company says that users can use the Google Assistance virtual for driving to enable the hands–free control up to Spotify brings out any solution.
In a reply to the community forum, Spotify stated that it is right that they are retiring from this car view mode but it does not mean that they are not improving their features to the listeners while driving. On the other side, the company is working on various new ways to deliver the best in-car app implementations. They are also emphasizing the effort of the innovations that are coming down the track.
However, it is not clear why Spotify has gotten rid of the car view mode but the plausible fact is that this feature was not used widely. In a similar way, there are several ways to help the listeners so that Spotify can work on similar solutions of the car view model. In addition to that, several modern-day cars have the scope to change or play the music via steering the controls or the inbuilt car audio system.
Now it makes more sense to the company to invest in hands-free control for the particular users while driving their cars. For instance, it is currently that Google shut down Android closed earlier this year in the phone screens. Right now, the company has replaced that feature with the Google Assistant driving view after curtain down in the Android 12. However, cars that can directly connect with the Andriod Auto can use this app continuously.
On the forum of the official Spotify, the work is ongoing backstage for improving the car experience. They are assuring that it would work more friendly for the listeners during driving. However, in the contemporary situation, the stereo dashboard would support the Android Auto or the Apple car play to access the Spotify interface on the screen.
