Apart from the long trail of Award distribution what became the highlight of the MTV VMA 2020 was Lady Gaga’s iconic mask. The diva brought ‘Chromatica’ to the VMA’s with a futuristic Medley. Gaga’s performance opened up in a bedroom where an age-old VMA was being played on an old TV set. She jumps out of the bed throwing off a bright green two-piece dress as Chromatica II starts playing in the background. She quickly makes her way down a pole and hops through naked mannequins and joins her fellow dancers for the sing 911. She then quickly transits into ‘Rain on Me’ to which she was later joined by Ariana Grande. While both of them sported masks, it was Lady Gaga’s lightening mask was a sight to behold. After a short while, Grand departs from the stage and Gaga quickly struts with a stripped-down version of ‘Stupid Love’. Both Ariana and Gaga were adorned with nine nominations that night.
Another most notable performance was offered by BTS at the VMAs where the boys brought out their fun-funk music with a blend of style. Their performance was certainly another highlight of the night where they came; they danced and pumped up the energy like Dynamite. They delivered their first live performance for the new single ‘Dynamite’ which has already shattered all records. It was the boy’s first live performance on the stage of the MTV VMA and they made their debut all the more lit by performing in front of the New York City skyline. It was bewildering to watch them groove with so much energy and fun.
The 2020 MTV Video Music Awards has been aired across MTV’s all linear and digital platforms. Watch it now to experience some amazing musical performances.
