Singer Keri Hilson’s career was taking off with pride and accomplishment when she fell into a crude scene with Queen B, Beyonce. She was a part of the production team Clutch and also contributed to the backing vocals in many popular songs by Kelly Rowland, Usher, Ciara, and others. Her breakthrough came in 2006 when she got signed with Timbaland’s Mosley Music production label. Soon, her debut album, In a Perfect World got attributed to gold status in 2009. This also led to two Grammy nominations. The issue started when she released a remixed version of the single ‘Turnin’ Me On’ that seemingly criticizes Beyonce, who at that time was one of the biggest R&B artists.

It is believed by many that the lyrics of the aforementioned song dissed at Beyonce’s 2006 hit single, ‘Irreplaceable’. There was no name-calling but many believe that the song was a direct attack on Beyonce who at that time announced to take a break from her career to focus on her family. The remix had lyrics such as, ‘She need to go have some babies, she need to sit down, she fake, them other chicks ain’t even worth talkin’ bout’. The remix was supposed to improve Keri’s status as an artist but instead, took the wrong turn.

These accusations went for the worse in 2011 when Keri Hilson refused to hold an issue of a certain magazine that had the power couple on the cover. Following this, everyone was convinced regarding the ongoing issue. She took to Twitter to clear the air saying that she had her reasons. Cut to 2020, Hilson confirmed that there are no personal issues between the two and it was just a marketing strategy. She said that she did not expose this during the early stages of her career. But now, it is too late as she lives on as an example of how wretched the BeyHive can be.
