Blowing away the cobwebs with enthralling songs, the Canadian pop artist The Weeknd captured the attention of the Americans on Sunday. He has become a Super Bowl megastar, following the footsteps of the pop artists like Shakira and Jennifer Lopez. He grasped the interest of half a billion people for the tremendous show. His performance during the Super Bowl 2021 in Florida was watched by 104 million people while it was streaming live.
Like all the legendary artists who dream of confounding the crowd with the world’s biggest act on the Super Bowl stage, he was excited to experience the unique position in his life. His big dream has finally come true and yet it feels like a script of a movie. He was honored and bamboozled to be a part of the center attraction of the Super Bowl game. When he took the infamous stage, he heard the unbelievable vibration of hooting from the crowd.
The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, has given some mind-blowing hits last year. He has achieved more than 45 platinum and singles and albums. He did something so extravagant on the stage that it almost felt unreal. His stage was prepared right next to the Raymond James Stadium pirate ship. He took it down to the field with him and his backdrop dancers. He gave out some of his nostalgic hits from 2020 and rose the temperature up with his beguiling electric performance.
The whole halftime show has maintained all the protocols to refrain from infection from the pandemic. Therefore, he did not have a guest performer to surprise the audience with more anticipation. It was decided to rule out any guest performance to avoid close contact and keeping it safe for the world.
