With the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025, the world has basically seen something nobody ever thought of in the music industry. Music enthusiasts dived into Brat Summer which reigned over at least three-quarters of the year. Not only that, they were surprised by Kendrick Lamar for dropping not one but surprised musical creation. The glamorous and gorgeous powerhouse of vocals, Katy Perry took a nose dive from being the firework to getting dissed by her beloved fans for ‘Women’. This showed that no matter how talented any musicians can be, they might just become a bit too much to take for their fans. The world also witnessed the soul-capturing Eras Tour of Taylor Swift and her facing a terrorist threat for being famous but now it’s time for the newcomers of the industry to shine bright. This blog has summed up 10 top upcoming and rising artists that fans are anticipating to break musical boundaries of different levels.

H.LLS

This anonymous production trio has raised a lot of questions. From small things like what is the meaning of the name, to the visual representations, especially what is the meaning of the red squares? Nothing seems to be certain with them apart from their amazing taste in music along with their spontaneous flow of creativity which the world had not seen before. According to the members of the trio, H.LLS originated from the understanding that they make their best music together and it can be done without any kind of ego clash or self-doubt. This mindset has allowed them to let their imagination run wild and create freely without thinking about rules, regulations, and boundaries. The members felt that anonymity was a natural extension, which removes the façade and lets the music breathe and flow on its own.

With choice features from Tay Iwar, ultravividpink, and Col3trane, and their production of a resoundingly London mix of electronic and alt-RnB, their debut project TAPE 1 was a surprise highlight of 2024. Plus, with a title like that, you can bet there’s more where it came from in 2025. The members said that right now whatever has happened was beyond their imagination. Their main goal was to simply create and nothing more. They never thought that something that traveled as a collaborative experiment in pursuit of quality would eventually evolve into an entity that people would start to appreciate and resonate with.  H.LLS is a venture that demands innovation. More projects, more collaborations, more experiments, live shows, everything. A change is far overdue; H.LLS is here to facilitate that.

SIENNA SPIRO

Who knew that a 19-year-old could have so much experience in this ruthless music industry that she would be on the verge of ruling over all? The London-based singer and songwriter Sienna Spiro proved that she was one of the top contenders of this game when the world first heard her ‘Back to Blonde’ which overnight became a massively popular pop record that weaves an extended metaphor of bleaching memories and hair alike in the wake of a breakup. Even though this was only her fourth release and many would think that she still needed to gain a lot of experience to survive in this music industry, her vocals speak of something completely opposite of that. This release has got all the hallmarks of someone with years of skin in the game. The powerhouse of vocals is strong enough to rival all the pop greats. According to the singer, music has always been a part of her existence for as long as she can remember. He recalls that her father was always playing old soul and jazz records which had inspired her and still does whenever she writes a song. She has also promised her fans that in the coming future, they can only expect a lot of new music, sounds, and live performances from her because she is ready to take on the world.

In an interview, she also mentioned how she is taking in the whole situation as it seems really crazy and exciting to be part of the process and finally get to see the result, also she finds it very interesting how different people react and resonate with her music in their own way.

RIAN BRAZIL

This name grabbed everyone’s attention in 2019 when he was a part of a legendary rap trio Nokia Mansion in 2021. Recently he has again proved why his name should not be forgotten by music enthusiasts. In his single, ‘Hey!’ as glitched-out electronic production jitters in and out of mania, Rian shows an emotional conflict. With time, he has managed to prove that his sound has evolved and it has become more elusive with each iteration. The track is lo-fi, and extremely technical, and has helped to claim the position of being one of the hottest names in the industry right now.

According to Rian, his musical journey started at the tender age of 11 when he used to sneak into an abandoned garage next to his house and practice his lyrics. He used to switch on the mixer when everybody would be asleep. Back in that time, the artist used to hide his lyrics in old multi-CD drum and bass DVDs so that nobody could find them, nowadays it has changed its place and now he uses his phone to hide his lyrics.

OLYMPIA VITALIS

London-based soul singer Olympia Vitalis’ story-telling ability is out of this world and the fans really seem to appreciate it. Deftly dancing between the piercing peaks of the likes of Hiatus Kaiyote’s Nai Palm and the deepest depths of Nina Simone, with the acerbic wit to rival both, listening to Vitalis’ music is a 3D experience. Her latest single, ‘The Rush, is a powerful chronology of the intergenerational marginalization of Britain’s Windrush Generation, and it speaks to an artistry that is set to hit full swing this year. She started her journey of singing when she was 11 years old and was part of a gospel choir. She always found herself writing diaries, poems, and stories which got a boost when the lockdown hit and she started putting it all together.

Looking back at 2024, it is clear that she had an amazing year where she did nearly 30 shows and a couple of support tours and now she is finishing up her debut project. She also did a COLORS show and got nominated for an AIM award and she wants to continue this excitement to 2025.

LEOSTAYTRILL

With just a handful of viral singles, 18-year-old South London rapper LeoStayTrill went from virtually unknown to practically too big for this list in 2024 alone. There’s no question that a large part of this success is due to his impeccable syncopated flow, injecting an addictive sense of rhythm into remixes of Jack Harlow’s ‘What’s Poppin’ and Clean Bandit’s ‘Rather Be (feat. Jess Glynne)’. Clearly raised on the UK drill sonics that have now taken over the charts, LeoStayTrill is a prime example of what London’s new generation of rappers can achieve.

The rapper expressed that he naturally had a passion for music from a young age and was always drawn to creative expression. He had found inspiration in artists like Jaden Smith, who showed that young Black kids could excel in rap and make an impact. According to him, things are going great and he seems to have made a significant progress in his life. He has sold out my first headline show and released ‘Pink Lemonade (Str8 Reload)’ which became the TikTok song of the summer, which further boosted his recognition.

FCUKERS

On their debut EP Baggy$, the New York trio (which consists of vocalist Shanon Wise, producer Jackson Walker Lewis, and drummer Ben Schnarf) collide British mainstays like bassline and jungle with laid-back guitar riffs and off-kilter indie vocals to create something totally fresh. It’s sort of like what would happen if The Streets met Warpaint. He was DJing a lot in the city and met Shan (ny Wise) through a dear mutual friend. They wanted to start making music just for fun, just for them and their friends. They are about to go on the Hard Rock café tour of 2025.

MOSES IDEKA

With production that takes cues from UK electronic and dubstep deep-cuts, and vocals that would feel at home on any RnB classic, Moses Ideka’s music is as deeply emotive and yearning as they come. He’s a prime example of a new wave of artists exploring the frontiers of UK sonics against the backdrop of a cost of living crisis and the pandemic. Think Gen Z Sampha and you’re halfway there. Music became an integral part of his existence when he was around 2 or 3 years old and had listened to ‘Soulman’ by Kendrick Lamar. Currently, he is working on his first EP and traveling around Asia. He has also started to do live performances and collaborate with more people.

CHY CARTIER

Chy Cartier spun all the men in the room at the Victory Lap cipher earlier this year, and that’s just the start of her impressive accolades. With an elusive co-sign from drill icon Headie One, and supporting UK rap heavyweight Nines at his final live performance earlier this year, the North Londoner is set for a big year in 2025. She started writing her own music at the age of seven, after learning how to count bars and reciting Nicki Minaj’s lyrics, the mix of that rhythm and wordplay really inspired her to create her own music from a very young age.

KHAKIKID

From grunge-rap banger ‘Who’s That Girl, in 2023, to the soulful ‘Shlumped Up’, and even to the surprisingly country recent release ‘Boy Racer’, there’s an undeniable and infectious funkiness that carries across all of KhakiKid’s releases. He’s also notable for standing among a wider generation of new exciting Dublin artists, including Chameleon, Bricknasty, F3miii, CARSTEN2X, and more.  According to him, his biggest inspirations were Chief Keef and Natasha Bedingfield. He remembers that his musical journey started when he was a part of a choir in his local church. He was heavily influenced and inspired by Mac Miller because according to this artist, Mac Miller showed him that rap could be a lot more than what he thought to be.

He has a new single called ‘Boy Racer’ out which is one of his favorites. Right now he is concentrating very much on stockpiling as much music as he can, he is trying to release the most amount of music he has ever released in a year.

CALDO

Effortlessly gliding over UK alt-rap production with lyrics in both English and Italian, it’s clear that Londoner Caldo is a great rapper. But what really sets him apart is the cohesive vision tying it all together. Weaving engaging stories to match his colorful and bouncy production, there’s something about Caldo that just screams ‘it factor’. He grew up listening to a lot of rap and one of his main inspirations was Dave. He used to go to the music practice room of his school and write on beats until he and his mates got kicked out for causing too much commotion. 2024 had been a great year for this artist and he wished to continue nurturing his passion. It was during this year that he witnessed his first moment of real traction after releasing his most streamed song ‘ACT!VE’.

Music is one of the best things that can happen to a human being and according to the above-mentioned list, 2025 seems to witness this best thing to its full extent.
