After the news of Usher’s headlining surfaced, the rapper said in a news release, “It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before.” NFL shared a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), “USHER. LAS VEGAS. APPLE MUSIC HALFTIME SHOW,” along with an accompanying video where Kim Kardashian and Usher could be seen talking over the phone regarding the event. The video is well-made and offers a fun essence of Usher’s comeback. Kim says over the phone, “I finally got the answer to those rumors. It’s not about me, it’s about you. You’re doing the Super Bowl.” Usher seems to not believe it in the beginning and responds, “Quit playing with me man.” Kim further says, “I’ve seen you in Vegas twice, but this time got to be different.” It is perhaps a reference to Usher’s luxurious residency in Las Vegas which received more extensions in December.

Who is going to play in Super Bowl 2024?
Super Bowl takes place every year which is the NFL’s annual championship game. It is the last game of the season and the most highlighted sports event of the year. Different teams work hard to qualify for the NFL’s annual championship game through a single-elimination tournament. Similarly, in 2024, respective champions teams from the American Football Conference and the National Football Conference will play against each other. The playoff will start in January next year.
The season for the NFL has already started on September 7 and some of the early favorites for the 2024 event will be the San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, etc. to name some. Last time in 2023, the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs played against each other and the Chiefs won with a score of 38-35.
When can people avail of the tickets for the event?
Tickets for the Super Bowl event are still not available for the general public yet. Ticketmaster is not offering any tickets right now. However, the tickets are distributed among the teams that are competing as well as the team that is hosting. Each individual team will distribute the tickets then. Not sure about the regular tickets but Ticketmaster will definitely sell several types of VIP packages online, which are available for purchase. Audiences can also purchase resale tickets which are ticket marketplaces each year.
Venue and duration for the Show
The Super Bowl Event is all set to take place just outside Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada. This stadium is also the home ground for the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders, as well as the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Rebels college football team.
Usher’s halftime performance will be happening in the stadium only. He said in an interview with Apple Music 1 that his performance will be running for typically 13 minutes as the usual duration is around 12 to 15 minutes. Usher said “Those 13 minutes mean everything,” as it has “Been on my bucket list for a long time.” The halftime break at the Super Bowl runs between the second and the third quarters of the game and it is around 20 to 30 minutes. Within this short window, the Super Bowl offers an exciting setup for the musical guest performances that are arranged in the center field.
What did Usher say about headlining Superbowl?
Before the NFL’s post on September 24, Usher did not reveal anything about his performance. In a recent interview with Apple Music 1, Usher said that he has even kept it a secret from his own family. With an excitement, he said, “It’s happening. It has happened, ladies and gentlemen!!” The rapper further added “It’s been a lot to keep secrets from my own kids at home. A very, very close-knit group of people knew and were really excited about the entire thing. Obviously a legacy. But more than anything the fact that this is the most grand stage to ever play on, man.”
The rapper also felt nostalgic about the moments when he used to come to the event as a kid to enjoy the game and the musical performances by the legends. He added, “I think being able to see performances from artists like Michael, eventually Prince, and then even more modern-day artist, and to be perfectly honest, to see artists that even started before … started after, I did get it. I was like, man, at some point I need to get a call with what’s going on now.”
Is anyone else performing with Usher?
NFL has not declared anything other than Usher’s performance and so, there is no official news for additional performances. However, the Super Bowl is best known for offering some of the wackiest collaborations. When asked Usher, he said “Well, one thing I can say is I’ve collaborated with a lot of incredible artists throughout the years,” and this time, “I like to hear who you think would be a great guest — great guest to complement this.”
