Burna Boy creates history by being the first ever Afro artist to headline in a UK Stadium while the music enthusiast goes crazy over his unwavering performance.
Grammy award-winning Nigeria-born music artist Burna Boy is empowering his culture and community while representing Afro music to the global industry. This rapper has made history by becoming the first ever African music artist to headline a UK stadium.
Burna Boy has popularized Afro-fusion music majorly with his blended styles of pop, dancehall, hip-hop, and R&B influences along with a punch of Afro beats. For more than a decade, this artist has been working rigorously to create more collaboration and solo music projects that can be cherished by Britain’s African and Caribbean communities.
Burna made his place in the UK mainstream with some star-studded collaborations with Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, Jorja Smith, and many others. His latest single in summer 2023’s top 5 solos, ‘Last Last’ did not fail to entice music lovers around the globe. Quite evidently, sonic influences of African music have become a staple for global music as well as in British culture.
On the latest event, Burna performed in a bold orange jumpsuit while the musical arrangement offered clever uses of thumping drums and seductive saxophone. The white-clad troupe of dancers embraced the mood for the show even more while Burna captivates the audiences with a two-hour set, full of swagger and explosive moments. While the UK audiences showed their love for the rapper, he showed his gratitude with the heartfelt words, “Words can’t explain my emotions right now … there’s nothing else I’d dreamed more of.”
He started the show with some of his early releases such as ‘Don Gorgon’ and ‘Tonight’ which showed this artist’s skills before he even gained attention outside Africa. In 2018, he certainly became widely famous with his charismatic skills that offer warmth to the hearts of the audiences and not just their eardrums. The buoyant energy engaged the crowd again and again. With an aesthetic setting, a group of talented dancers, and a loud audience base; it is truly a power-pact performance that everybody enjoyed.
Dave and Stormzy as well as Jamaican vocalist Popcaan add more chemistry to the vent with their prolific musical skills. J Hus also appeared live for the first time in many years to perform the tracks like ‘Play Play’ and ‘Sekkle Down’ with Burna Boy. It is safe to say, Burna is offering a warm and communal confirmation with his heritage, musical aura, and pride that represents his country and cultural influences in front of the whole world.
