The ‘Love On Tour’ by the Grammy-winning pop superstar Harry Styles finally started its Australian journey. The star opened the Australian leg of the tour in Perth.
The capital of Western Australia has already welcomed summer. The humidity in the air was not only because of the changing seasons but also because the infamous ‘Love On Tour’ by Harry Styles has reached there. The Australian leg of the tour was kick-started by the musician and the opening show was in Perth. With a crowd of almost 30,000 enraptured and enthralled young Harry Styles fans, it felt like the summer came early in Perth. And the singer seems to agree as he said “It’s a bit hot down here, innit? A scorcher!” in his best Australian accent before starting the show.
This ‘Love On Tour’ show was postponed for Covid 19 and the pandemic, so it marks 5 long years since Harry last visited Australia to perform. After getting on stage, the singer did not forget to check on the fans and how they are feeling. He said, pointing out the heat and humidity in the air, “Is everyone feeling OK? Are you drinking enough water? Does anyone have hydration tablets?” However, this was not just because of how the weather was feeling, but also because the fans and diehard supporters of the singer led quite a stressful journey to get there. Ignoring the venue’s 8 am curfew, some of the fans have queued since 2 am to get a prime spot and endured a stampede as well while moving to a different gate.

All of that trouble was worth it in the end, as the ‘As It Was’ singer delivered a glamorous and charming performance on the stage. Welcomed by the ear-splitting squealing teenage fans, the singer has carved the set list carefully to give them the best experience. From party-starting anthems to laid-back indie pop tracks, Styles’ performance had everything. During the final performance of the night, he performed the smash hit ‘As It Was’. Before starting this song, the artist also acknowledged the transformation that he went through since the last time he visited the country and said, “The world is not the same as it was,”.
Just like his other shows, about halfway through his set list, the singer stopped and announced it was time for the fans to show off the signs they have been bearing for the night. Some of them are indeed hilarious, one reads, “I dragged my husband here from Sydney.” which created quite an entertaining moment in the show.
