Miley Cyrus comes together with godmother Dolly Parton on stage, performing in matching outfits, during the NBC’s holiday live program Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party in Miami.
Miley Cyrus kicked off her New Year with godmother Dolly Parton as the two singers were seen outfit-twinning and rocking some of the most iconic melodies. In the wake of the second iteration of Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party on Saturday, December 31, 2022, in Miami, the country music legend Dolly Parton joined Cyrus on stage as they duetted to the latter’s 2013 release ‘Wrecking Ball’ and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts’s ‘I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll.’
The second annual Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party is an NBC special that was hosted as a part of the holiday programming of the television Network. For ‘Wrecking Ball’, Parton, 76, was seen wearing a shimmering silver gown with sheer cut-outs. With the outfit, she paired matching earrings. In contrast to that, Cyrus, 30, wore a black body-hugging gown which gave her a classic, timeless look. They then transitioned into singing ‘I Will Always Love You’.
However, it was the outfits of the opening number that became internet sensations. Miley stepped into an attractive LBD with cut-outs paired with animal print gloves, which she paired with a chunky choker and boots. She accompanied Patron who matched the vibe with a silhouette-hugging embellished jumpsuit with cut-outs in leopard print and studded lining. She accessorized the outfit with silver hoop earrings and black boots. They were seen clearly enjoying performing together on the stage, and fans couldn’t seem to have enough.
The duo seemed to be really enjoying themselves and vibing to the rhythm of their music as the crowd cheered them on. This isn’t the first time that Parton has collaborated with her goddaughter on stage, with the most memorable one being their mesmerizing ‘Jolene’ performance at an episode of The Voice in 2016 when the duo decided to wear a matching combination of black and pink. While Patron’s outfit was essentially pink with black lace and fur detailing and cutouts, Miley was seen wearing a shimmery one-shoulder LBD with lace and pink fur detailing on the arm.
Grabbing the opportunity during the live broadcast, Cyrus announced that she has some new music lined up for 2023. The last album that the artist released was Plastic Hearts in 2020. After a commercial break during the live show, a video appeared that showed Miley walking down a street sporting a golden mini dress as a clip of her new song crooned in the background and her new single ‘FLOWERS’ was announced to be released on January 13.
