It is a splendid execution of brilliance by gifted singer 5ive who has slain the listeners with her tunes of rap, pop and R&B. She has given an engrossing performance in the music video ‘Put It On You’. We managed to sneak in an interview with the Boston multi talented artist 5ive.
First of all, best of luck for your splendid music video that is doing great at this moment. We are feeling lucky enough as you have given us your precious time. Let us just begin with a few questions on your personal and professional front.
Q : Who has been your inspiration to take the plunge in the musical arena?
Ans : A person didn’t inspire me to step into the musical arena. My ability to sing and write music was my inspiration. I started writing songs and poetry when I was a young girl. I use to also write my own lyrics over popular songs and share them with friends and family who encouraged me to start taking it seriously.
Q : Who is your favorite icon to date and Why? Can you elaborate just a bit on that?
Ans : I never had a icon honestly. I thought music was iconic so I was more so inspired by all music not a individual person. Till this date that thought process remains the same.
Q : Which genre out of pop, rap, and R&B excites you the most?
Ans : I wouldn’t say a genre excites me. I would say any record with meaning or storytelling behind it excites me. Which can come from any genre.
Q : Who is the most enviable among contemporary musicians and why?
Ans : I don’t believe a person has been the most enviable but I do believe black music culture has. A lot of people and genres are influenced by the culture whether they want to admit or not.
Q : Are there any thoughts of diversifying your career in terms of entrepreneurship?
Ans : I actually am already a entrepreneur. I have serval skills and talents that will allow me to be finically independent. To eventually open my own business and help others achieve their independent goals as well.
Q : Whom do you worship as an idol and want to meet in person given a chance?
Ans : I worship no one but the creativity and ambition within myself to become the extremely successful woman I’m destined to be and I can’t wait to meet her.
Q : Is reaching the acme of creativity more important or do you value material success more than anything else?
Ans : Creativity over anything material is more satisfying to me because materials expire. Creativity has no limits as long as you keep on creating. That’s what’s valuable.
Q : Which is the favorite city in the world where you can go for a live performance anytime?
Ans : I like to go where my fans are.
Q : Is the music industry moving in the proper directions or doses things need to change?
Ans : The music industry has turned into one big popularity contest and very high school list of you ask me. Nothing is about real talent anymore as a matter of fact you don’t even have to have any. That definitely needs to change but social media is way too powerful.
Q : Which aspect of yours do you think should be changed for the better?
Ans : Development of my faith in the music industry. I need to keep the faith that making good music will broadly reach my target audience.
Q : How do you look at the recent Covid-19 pandemic and what is your take on it?
Ans : A distraction for people to live in fear. Fear is the killer of all dreams. If you live in fear then you’ll simply stop living.
Q : Any regret that you have in your career that you want to change given a chance?
Ans : I have no regrets. I’ve learned so much and I’m so seasoned in regards to this industry. I have grown and I’m still growing. I have been Grinding for a very long time but it’s paying off. I have yet taken any easy ways out and it’ll be worth it in the End.
