Pop/ hyperpop artist Always has come out with his latest chartbuster song ‘Earned It’. Catchy music
beats and creatively rich and sublime verses have made the song delicate and multilayered from all
aspects. Undoubtedly, it is one of the best songs you have ever heard. Let’s hear from Always what he
feels about the song and its success.
DMR: Congratulation Always, on the success of your song ‘Earned It’. The song is now loved and
admired by the listeners. What do you feel about the song its success?
Always: Thank you, thank you. I’m really excited that Earned It is doing really well off the album. I made this song with my best friend a while ago, and I was itching to release it since we made it. I think it’s the perfect send off for the album.
DMR: How did you develop the idea for this song?
Always: My friend and I usually always made rap songs whenever we collaborated, but we decided to do something different again. We had another poppy song together called Miss You, and it was our most popular collaboration, so we decided to make another song similar to that. We wanted to make a catchy song that also had a harsh tone to it, which is why the lyrics are pretty mean in a sense. I think we executed the song perfectly.
DMR: Are you only a hyperpop artist, or sing other genres also?
Always: I definitely wouldn’t want to box myself in as just a hyperpop artist. I love making hyperpop songs, but I always make sure to branch out. I make a lot of normal pop songs, and have a decent amount of rap songs released already, with even more songs in the works.
DMR: What has inspired you to compose hyperpop songs?
Always: I always like to listen to new artists and even experiment with new genres, so when I kept hearing about these upcoming hyperpop artists, I decided to give them a listen. I was a little skeptical at first, but I quickly fell in love with the genre. It was difficult to find a way to start making hyperpop music, but once I made my first song, I was making 2-3 songs a day.
DMR: Do you want to share any interesting facts about the song?
Always: This song lowkey has somewhat of a story linked to the lyrics now, but wasn’t really thought of when making the song. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve listened to this song and just thought about different situations that I’ve gone through in my life. That’s why I love the song so much, and that’s why I think it’s getting a lot of attention on my album.
DMR: What do you want to achieve in the music industry?
Always: My goal in the music industry is to meet and collaborate with new artists, be able to put on amazing performances, grow a big fanbase and be able to interact with them frequently, and just to keep enjoying what I’m doing with my music. There’s so many artists that I listen to that I’d like to work with someday. I know that time will come, but I just gotta keep focusing on the music I’m making right now.
DMR: How important is it for an artist to give the right message to society through his music?
Always: There are a lot of songs where you probably shouldn’t be doing what they’re talking about in the songs, but it can still be enjoyable. I think that you don’t always need to pull a message from a song, especially if that obviously wasn’t the intent from the artist in the first place.
DMR: What makes you a believer in your songs?
Always: I legitimately love my music, and I think every artist should love their own too. I listen to my unreleased music on the daily, and can’t wait to make more to listen to. I think every artist should be their own number one fan, not in a cocky way, but if you don’t love your own music, who will? That’s what makes me believe in my discography, it’s the fact that I really think I make great music.
DMR: How do you rate yourself as a hyperpop artist?
Always: I would say that I still have a decent amount to learn, not only in hyperpop, but in the music scene in general. I couldn’t really rank myself among others, but I do think that I could be in conversation with some other artists I listen to. I can hear myself making songs with these bigger artists, and for that reason, I don’t see myself being too far away from being where they are.
DMR: Do you like to play any instrument?
Always: I used to play guitar when I was younger, but haven’t really done much with it since. I still remember how to play, but I just don’t use my guitar as much anymore. I for sure love singing a lot more when it comes to my own music, but I’d like to learn to produce with some of my own instrumentals in the future.
DMR: Do you want to disclose anything about future projects?
Always: I just released my album on all platforms last month called “Now Isn’t This Lovely,” so go check that out if you haven’t. I have my first big feature from one of my favorite artists at the moment, Angelus, on my song called “Want Me Now.” I’m already working on a lot of new stuff, from more pop, rap, hyperpop, and maybe I’ll even branch into some new genres. I for sure have a couple other projects planned out, so I’m working on those right now.
DMR: Do you want to leave any messages for your fans?
Always: I always appreciate the support from people who message me, like my posts, or just even follow my work in general. The support I’m getting is amazing, and I love every one of my fans. If anyone wants to follow my work, my socials everywhere are @fvr_always, and you can obviously find me on all music platforms as Always. Love all my supporters, thank you for all listening!
