Daily Music Roll: What kind of music genre do you represent?

Chaka: PopRock Rap and Christian contemporary

DMR: Which artists inspire you’re the most?

Chaka: It changes from time to time but Dua Lipa is huge for me and is probably my dream collab Nipsey Hussle is one of my all-time biggest influences other big influences include post-Malone NF Ed Sheeran Halsey Chance the rapper Eminem DrakeTaylor swift simple plan fall out boy good Charlotte Johnny cash Frank Sinatra Maroon5 Lecrae Macklemore to name several as it is hard to narrow it down to one besides maybe Dua Lipa bc she’s the best!!! Her Musicality her Energy and positivity are infectious. Her performances are also out of this world.

DMR: Where do you originally hail from and where are you based now?

Chaka: Born In Las Vegas Nevada. Lived in Carson California til I was a teenager have been in Tennessee ever since formerly Lewisburg currently Columbia

DMR: What influences got you into making music professionally?

Chaka: Originally my dad playing classic rock plaid a great factor than outside that Eminem and Drake were the 2 first specific artist as a kid that made me really wanna do music with Eminem he made me wanna start rapping but Drake inspired me to venture into rap and singing while even more recently I’d say post-Malone is an artist that really made feel ok bout having singing and rap Elements without necessarily being hip hop really any influence question I can go forever. But really number one influence is God and the second is family.

DMR: How would you describe your soundscape, music, and arrangement styles?

Chaka: I do like to evolve and switch up but my last album was primarily a rap project despite still having more of a rock sound or pop sound than hip hop that used a much darker approach than the upcoming Toxic Diary Mixtape which is a very light yet funky rough sound with a unique production that blends the nostalgic and current Elements together while Makin sure each arrangement uniquely and gracefully fit the message. Think of some crazy retro rocking garage band dance party meets high hats and unique production tricks closer to what you might see in rap music. As even in a singing project the rap undertones are still there. When it comes to sound it’s all style vibes and Energy. My approach is very stylistic even no matter what the case may be each project has its own story so yes I have my sound I always wanna have but every story is different so every story needs its own sound and identity.

DMR: Do music videos hold any importance in the creative enhancement of music?

Chaka: Absolutely but I don’t think it needs to be every single getting a video nessarly. let each one be special.

DMR: Do you have any upcoming plans for new content?

Chaka: Yes, this song is my title track for my upcoming mixtape coming this spring.

DMR: Do you have any notes or suggestions to give to an upcoming lot of musicians?

Chaka: Just keep grinding and have a purpose with what your doing let each track be its own individual moment. Ask yourself no matter what style or what lane you’re in wats your stance. How does this impact wats going on? how can this affect somebody? and finally, just send them my love I plan on pushing and Makin my dream come true and I’ll be praying that you push and your time comes too. Got several other guys I’m thinking of just typing this from the area and surrounding areas ya know support and love it’s what it’s all about so really got a lotta love for the other artist or anyone tryna break into the music biz. Great question!!!
