The San Diego singer-producer/CEO Baby-k Da Godfather is amplifying the true essence of hip-hop music with his excellent creations. This artist is reaching out to huge audiences with his exemplary songs. His contribution to the music industry as an independent artist is unavoidable. Recently we got an opportunity to have a chat with him and this is how it went-
DMR: Hello Baby-k Da Godfather, thank you so much for taking out your time for us. First of all, I want to ask you about your journey in the music industry.
Baby-k Da Godfather: My journey has been incredibly I was blessed to work and learn from some of the hottest top producers and artists in my city San Diego, I learned at lot at the beginning of my career, growing up in San Diego I build great relationships with a lot of people In my city so when I put my label together and put the word out a lot of people come to teach and work with me… Out of respect that we all have for each other.
DMR: When did you start working as a musician?
Baby-k Da Godfather: In high school, I dreamed and wanted to be in the music industry, in college I decided I was going to be in the industry so I drop out of college moved back home and started putting my label together.
DMR: How did you come up with the thought that you want to become an independent artist?
Baby-k Da Godfather: I got introduced to Master P No Limit Records in high school by my best friend and after listening to his music I thought his creativity was amazing, what Master P was doing is exactly what I dreamed of doing the movement they had was crazy I thought to myself I can do this too.
DMR: What has encouraged you to become a hip-hop musician?
Baby-k Da Godfather: The freedom to be your own boss and be able to make money and have fun with your Peers at the same time.
DMR: It is not an unknown fact that along with being a singer you are a producer too. So what has inspired you to become a producer and help out other musicians?
Baby-k Da Godfather: I wanted to have a label that produce all types of music and also help out people who were very talented but couldn’t afford any studio time and I also wanted to be fair and pay the artist exactly what they worth and not cheat them, there the one that been creative so why not pay them accordingly.
DMR: In the future, would you like to try out different genres of music?
Baby-k Da Godfather: Of course, I love all types of music and genres.
DMR: What are your thoughts on the current scenario in the hip-hop industry?
Baby-k Da Godfather: Let’s keep it art. No need to be extra/
DMR: How do you manage all the work on your own?
Baby-k Da Godfather: ldk I just do it, I love music and the industry it’s not work when you do what you love.
DMR: Are you working on any new projects right now?
Baby-k Da Godfather: Definitely Ijust sign a new in house producer/Engineer goes by the name of TiDDi. He’s a hot young upcoming producer from Los Ange les California,
DMR: When are you coming up with your next song?
Baby-k Da Godfather: We’re releasing a single call “Get Da Doe ” Produce by TiDDi, will be out right before the summer, it will be the next summer Anthem.
DMR: Are planning to go on tours in the coming days?
Baby-k Da Godfather: Yes, we will start touring in the summer.
DMR: Is there any message you would like to give to your fans?
