Belinda Song has released the rearranged version of her prior releases track, ‘Worthy 4.4’ which is a charming song saturated with some uplifting vibes. The magical aura of the song engages the audience for its lovely spirit. The narration and the verse formation are motivating as well as nurturing along with the composition of the song is truly tempting.
We thank you for offering us this enriching track. Your voice is nothing less than magical. This is one of your power-packed performances that will soon be popularized amongst your fans and admirers.
DMR: Belinda Song, share something about your music, the genre you are following or the instruments, and the types of equipment you are using?
Ans: My music is 100% original, not only do I write the songs and lyrics, I also arrange the instrumentals and produce the albums. The energy and vibe of my music are 100% my own, and not influenced nor ‘adjusted’ by anyone. To date, there are over a hundred compositions in my music catalog and I’m represented by BMI. Having received classical training and piano lessons since seven years old, I’m familiar with an array of instruments but love strings and percussion. I’m also multi-genre and can shift from R&B to dance, and ballad to alternative rock.
DMR: Can you share the first memory you have about performing music or music in general?
Ans: My first memory of music was the record player my parents gave me for my seven-year-old birthday, then there was a piano in mahogany, and then my memory jumps to this beautiful ‘sound room’ filled with music equipment at my parent’s house. They have always been very supportive of my music endeavors for as long as they didn’t interfere with my studies. My passion for music followed me everywhere. I was in the middle school choir, then auditioned for the ‘touring choir’ in high school, and was recruited as a soprano. My very first performance was a solo number while touring with the high school choir in Monterey, CA. Then there were singing contests, many of them, my parents kept the trophies for me. And then on one fine day, I was discovered by a scout from Polygram/Polydor, and the rest was history. I have toured most countries in Asia when I signed with Polygram/Polydor, but that was a little while ago and today the world has changed. My goals in music have shifted. I would like to work on syncing for TV/Film and envision writing and producing a musical in the foreseeable future.
DMR: If you are given the chance of collaborating with any music artist, who would you choose to collaborate with?
Ans: I would love to collaborate with Carole King because I’m a huge fan and admire the success of her career as a singer/songwriter. Her work stands the test of time and she has written so many hit songs throughout her career that have earned respect from the music industry. It would be a dream come true just to meet her! I would like to also collaborate with Train, their hit song ‘Calling All Angels’ has lifted up my spirits and served as my ‘comfort food for the soul’ – time and time again.
DMR: Share a memory that you have had that made this song ‘Worthy 4.4’, so special to you?
Ans: ‘Worthy” the original release was written during the pandemic and during times of change, there was (and still is) so much inequality in society that I needed to voice out for those who couldn’t, and hoped to encourage everyone who was in need of a sense of confidence, self-worth, and self-love. I have been long time support of charitable organizations such as “Women In Distress,” “Kids In Distress,” “Miami Rescue,” and “Caring House”. Being a single woman in business and music, I haven’t been exempted from stalkers and bullies, and have received a fair share of harassment, so I decided to further enhance the original ‘Worthy’ and rearranged the instrumentals to deliver a heightened sonic experience which is more intense, bolder and stronger, hence “Worthy 4.4” was conceived and released. “Worthy 4.4” is my personal ‘fight song’ and I hope my audience will find the courage and be inspired by the vibe and the lyrics.
DMR: Which song from your music catalog by far, that you did enjoy the most while making it?
Ans: From my music catalog, ‘Mental Vacation’ is the dance track that I enjoyed creating the most. The vibe is energetic, the sound is upbeat and very unique. Our days are so stressful and we have to make so many decisions throughout each day – decisions small and big, life can get pretty hectic sometimes. Through ‘Mental Vacation,’ I hope to deliver a few minutes of ‘mind/mental vacation’ where my audience can just relax, not think of anything and enjoy a break from everyday stress. The song is produced digitally and I really enjoyed creating all those special sound effects. Was a lot of fun.
DMR: What or who has inspired you the most to embark upon this journey?
Ans: Music runs in my blood and follows me everywhere. The journey started at seven years old when my parents gifted me my first piano, then there were twists and turns (aka life,) and then there were bad mistakes as well as sound decisions. So after a detour in my music journey, I’m finally back at it through the encouragement of my ‘late’ friend who passed away last year. I remember the motivation he gave me in kind words, ‘Belinda, you should share your (music) gifts with the world, I’m sure you can inspire many people…..” And then there were ‘mean’ people who told me “no you can not do that’ .. well, my reply to those ‘mean’ people – “YES I CAN, AND HERE I AM!”
DMR: Apart from being a music artist you are an author yourself, mostly from the romantic genre, who is your favorite author?
Ans: I grew up reading Danielle Steel’s books, love her work. Such romantic stories. Remember during lunch period in school, people would gather to gossip about each other over lunch, I played deaf ears and immersed myself in romance novels. So I guess Danielle Steel has quite an influence on me. There is also the late ‘Jackie Collins,’ (I love) the powerful and ruthless characters she created and her way of using explicitly unfiltered words and descriptions.
DMR: Is there any suggestion that you like to convey to all the emerging artists or singers who are planning to start their musical journey?
Ans: Yes, listen to your heart and believe in yourself – NEVER GIVE UP no matter what (negative) things that others may tell you. Music is a lifelong journey and there is no instant success, so be prepared to work and fight for what you believe in. Every new day is an opportunity for improvement, so don’t think about it or hesitate, just do what your mind tells you to, and go where your heart leads you. The harsh truth is that music creation takes money, so I suggest to everyone starting this journey to be mindful of this and to make sure that they also work on finances.
DMR: Tell us about your upcoming projects? What’s next that you are planning to release next?
Ans: “Worthy 4.4” has a ‘sibling’ song in the same alternative rock genre, which will be released sometime this Summer. There are also various collaboration pieces (too early to disclose) and a fabulous dance album towards the end of the year to welcome in the Holiday Season of 2022. Then here there and in between, there may be spontaneous surprises that even I’m not aware of (yet,) let’s see where inspiration leads me.
DMR: Which word would you choose if you were asked to describe your musical journey in just one word?
Ans: MESMERIZING.
DMR: Are you planning to rearrange and release further some of your already released tracks?
Ans: Yes absolutely so. A few dance beat songs will be rearranged and released with various instrumental pieces in the dance album to be released in Fall 2022.
DMR: Tell something dedicating your music lovers.
Ans: Thank you so much for your love and support! I’m a lucky gal to have friends like you. Hope my music keeps you company and inspires you in some little ways. Let’s spread the love and share the music around the world! Love you XOXO.
