In recent times, the jazz band Jason Jenkins Trio has received global appreciation from listeners. The founder of the band Jason Jenkins has come up with his solo album named ‘Blues & Synonyms’, which has created a buzz among all jazz music enthusiasts. His outstanding music presentation is helping him to grow in the industry. Recently we got the chance to have a chat with them and this is how it went-
DMR: Hello Jason Jenkins Trio and a big congratulation to Jason Jenkins for the huge success on the album ‘Blues & Synonyms’. What do you want to say about this response?
Jason Jenkins Trio: I’m very grateful it is doing well. People seem to gravitate to the more toe-tapping songs and that is wonderful.
DMR: How have you come up with the idea of making this album?
Jason Jenkins Trio: I usually record once every 2-3 years. With Covid that kind of altered things, obviously, so I was sitting on a lot of material and it was time.
DMR: What has inspired you to make such an enigmatic album?
Jason Jenkins Trio: Jazz is definitely musical emotion and love. All musicians on this album have their own unique voices.
DMR: You have taken the initiative of making a band. How you managed to do everything?
Jason Jenkins Trio: I live and perform a lot in Richmond, Virginia. I have been fortunate to have many concerts where I have been able to hire a lot of musicians. These are the core musicians I generally use.
DMR: What was your inspiration behind creating a jazz band?
Jason Jenkins Trio: It gave me a platform to play and perform music that I was truly into.
DMR: Is there any other genre of music that you have tried your hands on?
Jason Jenkins Trio: Yes, I am classically trained so my start and first musical love is definitely classical.
DMR: In the future, if there is a chance to try out different genres, would you give it a try?
Jason Jenkins Trio: Sure! I would love to explore some World Music.
DMR: Are you working on any new projects currently?
Jason Jenkins Trio: Nothing new coming up. Maybe a year or 2 down the road.
DMR: When your fans will get to listen to your new creations?
Jason Jenkins Trio: Right now! Blues & Synonyms is available on all streaming platforms.
DMR: Are there any upcoming tours that you are willing to do?
Jason Jenkins Trio: We will play some summer Jazz Festivals. Waiting to finalize the dates.
DMR: Is there any message you’d like to give to your audience?
Jason Jenkins Trio: Thank you so much for taking out your precious time for us. All the best for your future ventures.
