Chayle – one of the best artists to portray the harsh truth through the music that we all face in our lives. A different person by heart is here to entertain you with the latest release ‘Phoenix‘. Let’s check the journey of this artist throughout her career path –
Q : Hello, thanks for your precious time and congrats on the latest release. It’s no doubt an amazing performance. The first thing I would love to know is how was your journey so far in this industry?
Ans : Hello! Thanks for having me. My journey in music started out doing talent shows as a young child and going on to compete in singing competitions when I was a teenager.I always had a big voice, but there were a lot of pitch issues that I hadn’t had the maturity to control until recently. I turned my attention to dance for the longest time, and I’m still a professional dancer to this day. Naturally, being a dancer enables you to meet other artists like musicians, dancers, etc. I met my producer through a girl I had danced with. Another one of my friends, Exohmusic is a singer as well, and he’s also helped me with controlling my voice and coming up with melodies. It’s all been a collaborative process to show people the craziness that goes on in my head. So far, music has been the perfect way to experiment with all the sounds, visuals, and story-telling that I want to create my own world.
Q : What are the main things that you always focus while creating a track?
Ans : Creating the track can start in multiple ways. Sometimes, I’ll just tell my producer (Jacob Miles), “I want to create something that has the same sound as this”, and he will come up with the beat, and I’ll spend the week freestyling over it until melodies come together. Sometimes, I’ll freestyle over a track already made (I love instrumentals from Illenium&Gryffin), and he will find out the key it’s in and create something from that. I never focus on one specific technique when creating, I don’t like to feel limited. As long as the lyrics have meaning, and the music moves people, that’s all I want.
Q : ‘Phoenix’- what made you decide the theme of this song?
Ans : There are multiple reasons I decided on that theme, one of them being that when I experienced this initial heartbreak, I truly felt like part of me had died. And, I was right. I will never be the same person again, but I’m more aware of the consequences of getting myself in bad situations, and it will never happen again. I’m also a comic nerd, and Jean Grey (Phoenix) is my favorite character EVER, and I always loved the idea that she learned to accept her power instead of running from it. I think that’s an important message for all of us. We underestimate our ability to influence the people around us, and it can be either a very positive or negative thing, depending on the energy you emit.
Q : “Rising from the searing ashes of your own pain and loss” – so is there anything secret about your life that you are portraying through this track?
Ans : Ha! I think what’s important is that person I wrote it about knows its about them. The people in my life knows what the song means to me. If you ever see me walking down the street, we can talk about it then.
Q : A certain sense of spontaneity has made the music outstanding – is everything precisely composed or there is any live jam aspect you have done to this track?
Ans : With this track, it was already in my producer’s library, and I always told myself in the back of my mind that I wanted it. After the catastrophe that was our final goodbye, I was so emotional that I knew I was going to completely lose it if I didn’t create something. So, I had him send me the beat immediately after the person left, and I spent about twenty minutes putting the lyrics together. It was a transcendent experience to say what was going through my mind in such a tragic moment.
Q : Is there any upcoming project that you want to mention?
Ans : I’ll be releasing my third single by the end of the year! The mood and sound is completely different than this track, and I’m excited to play a new character. It’s going to be a lot more dazzling and shimmery, as compared to this track that had darker tones.
Q : Is offering live performance important to you?
Ans : Right now, I’m just focusing on creating as much as I can. I want to have completed visions for each song, but I want to perform them live when I get the opportunity to. I’ve spent so many years being a backup dancer, it’s definitely an experience I look forward to having!
Q : How long you have been mastering on creating tracks in youtube?
Ans : I’m very new to putting out completed projects on YouTube. I’ve been writing songs since I was about 13, but I never reached a point to where I felt comfortable putting it out. Releasing music can be a vulnerable action, because sometimes people don’t understand what they’re listening to, and it’s important to me that I release tracks with meaningful content, so I’ve only been releasing music as of this year.
Q : What is your dream venue to perform?
Ans : Man! I think the Red Rocks in Colorado would be like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. Hopefully one day! Right now, I’m just thankful that I’m in a spot to create whatever I want.
Q : What’s the best thing your fans can do to support your mission and vision?
Ans : If they want to follow me on Instagram @chayle or subscribe to my YouTube channel, that would be amazing! But what I really want is for them to talk to me, and let me know what’s going on in their lives, how the music affected them, etc. I want them to feel like they can talk to me like someone they’ve known their whole life. I love people. I love their stories and experiences. So, connecting to real people is what is most important to me!
Q : Do you play any instrument?
Ans : I can play basic chords on keyboards and guitar, but my producer (Jacob Miles) is the musical genius behind my tracks.
Q : Tell us something that you will love to share with your fans.
Ans : Thank you to anyone that listens to my music and watches my videos! I put a lot of work and my heart into it, and when it’s appreciated or even touched someone else’s spirt, I’m elated. I’m new to the scene, and just starting out but am so thankful for everyone who continues to support me and listen. It means the world to me. I’m so excited to create and collaborate and communicate with people. Thank you so much!
