Gospel music has that love, faith, and passion that can captivate everyone and Keith Bartell seems to know that well. The artist has come up with a brand new track called ‘I Am the Victor’ which offers an enjoyable and intriguing musical experience for all kinds of listeners. The song appears in the EP named ‘I Am The Victim’ which offers a total of 4 exciting songs. Thanks to Keith for sharing a few words with us about his musical creations and the journey.
DMR: Congratulations on the release of ‘I Am the Victor’. How are you feeling?
Keith: Thanks for the Congratulations! I’m excited about this new project. I believe it will be a blessing to many, who literally pay attention to the lyrics!
DMR: How is this song different from the other tracks in ‘I Am The Victor’?
Keith: This song is the message for the whole project. I Am The Victor Not The Victim! A simple message to let you know that because of the sacrifice that Christ mad on the cross. That alone makes you Victorious!
DMR: Please tell us about the creative process behind your songs.
Keith: All of these songs have a special meaning behind them. When I was writing these songs they all took on something personally for me. I Am The Victor – that meant for me that I win! Finally – After developing a personal relationship with Jesus, I found out that God’s not mad at me, but madly in love with me. It’s A Blessing – I wrote this one for my wife 34 years ago and It still means everything it did 34 years ago. Holy Is The Lamb – Creating this one was easy, because of reading in the book of Revelation, where it talks about what the four and twenty elders and the creatures are doing around the throne right now. I realized as I was writing this one that I was worshiping Christ with my pen! Wow!!!
DMR: What do you enjoy the most about being a contemporary gospel artist?
Keith: I enjoy the fact that God created all music. What I just happen to be doing is contemporary Gospel music. Contemporary gospel reaches a group of people that may not ever listen to gospel music. I love all genres of gospel music. As long as God gets the glory!
DMR: You are a three-time male vocalist champion. How do you train your voice?
Keith: I have never really had any formal training, however I do try to eat right and exercise. Our vocal cords are a muscle and we have to drink lots of water to stay hydrated.
DMR: You have also worked in “Trinity Good-Heart”. Do you enjoy acting?
Keith: Acting is something that I was blessed to fall into years ago, but yes, I enjoyed it when I had the opportunity to do it. It’s a totally different experience.
DMR: What are your views on the gospel music scene in the modern days?
Keith: I really like what’s happening on the modern gospel scene, I would just remind my fellow artists not to ever compromise the name of Jesus in our songs. Many people say the name of God, but not the name of Jesus!
DMR: What is your idea of being ‘Victorious’?
Keith: Just what the word says! I Win… In every way!
