Atlanta native rapper New Breed Nye offers the listeners a unique hip hop arrangement through his latest album ‘Love Me Before They All Do’. The 12 track LP is garnering a lot of attention from the listeners through the tracks like ‘Switch It’, ‘Deep End’, ‘What You Say’, etc to name some. The artist has been featured in US Times Now and Disrupt magazine with his prolific musicianship. We thank him for sharing a few words with us.
Congratulations on your latest album ‘Love Me Before They All Do’. How are you feeling about it?
I feel great, it’s exciting to release a new project The reception has been good so far and I’m just looking to continue to build.
This latest album came three long years after your last album ‘This Can’t Be True’. How were you preparing yourself?
I dropped some music in between that time, but I took time to build my brand. My brand has been able to grow on a major level with my Merch expanding into 7 different countries to date.
How the global pandemic did affect your musical journey?
It stopped a bunch of shows but I increased my awareness. I was on the early wave of virtual performance and I was able to do that and continue to grow.
How did your knack for hip hop music grow?
Just being a music junky. I love every1hing about hip hop n the hip hop culture. So for me, it was important to come put my name in somewhere lol.
Who inspired you the most to pursue music?
My older cousins passed that torch to me. At 13 they called me special and I just knew how to write and record. You could tell I had potential then and they made sure to let me know to go hard.
You have an amazing voice. Are you vocally trained?
Thank you, I can get better with vocals and definitely use a vocal trainer down the line but as for now, it’s all me. Definitely want to continue to improve.
As a well-seasoned rapper, what tips would you like to give to the rising rappers in the industry?
Do you and enjoy your lane. One thing for sure is having your own unique sound will take you further in the long run.
What are your views on the modern music industry?
Rapidly changing every day. Every1hing is so quick, here today and gone tomorrow. So for me, I want to be here for a lifetime and more.
How do you like to write your songs? Do you incorporate rap first or music?
I incorporate real-life first, I like to pull from different situations and go from there. I also enjoy letting the beats speak to me. I never force words to a beat.
Would you like to shed some light on your upcoming projects?
Yeah, actually I’m going to drop another project maybe later this year stay tuned.
Would you like to collaborate with other artists in the future?
Yes definitely, there are a bunch I would like to work with. But my top dog is Jay Z.
