DB Kash is coming up with his back-to-back latest performances. In his latest music video release ‘No Guidance‘ where he has featured the song has reached the expectation level of his fans. Q : What success means to you?
Ans : To me success mean having goals and achieving them. Short term goals that web to long term goals. I honesty believe once you start chasing success you will always aim for higher goals to succeed.
Q : Apart from hip hop and rap, which one is your favourite genre?
Ans : I cant be a hip hop artist and not like R&B. lol its like the two go together so I would have to say R&B. I listen to a little country tho but mostly hip hop and R&B
Q : If you are asked to collaborate with a renowned musician, whose name will you write down?
Ans : It would have to be DRAKE, to me drake is that artist that knows how to captivate the women but yet stand his ground as a dominant artist when need.
Q : Tell us something about your latest track ‘No Guidance’.
Ans : No Guidance is actually a single released by Chris Brown of his new album feat. drake. I didn’t know it was a single when I wrote to it. My producer sent the instrumental to me and said I should write a verse to this track so I did. The next day we went to the studio and I recorded it. I originally had a hook but was told I didn’t need it. After I recorded it and we listen to the play back, once my verse ended next thing you know I hear Drake come in and I’m listening like wtf this shit sound good but then here comes Chris brown verse and I’m like hold up this shit sound great! My producer open the first slot up for me and allowed me to attach my verse to a song that was about to blow up. The plan was to gain some promotion off it since it was a new song and most people hadn’t heard it yet. We waitng on the video so we could do the same promotional move with the video. It’s free promotion!!!
Q : Who has inspired you to become a music artist?
Ans : I was inspired by my childhood friend to do music. he was already rapping and doing talent shows. I was focused on football but being around him everyday influenced me to navigate in the music direction.
Q : How much importance you give to a live performance?
Ans : Live performance can make a average song sound great if performed well but can also make good sounding song seem average if performed bad. I put a great bit of practice and effort into my performance because I understand the importance of live performance. I practice my live show 3 times a week. I like to be prepared and not have to guess my next move on stage.
Q : How will you love to create sensation amongst the audiences?
Ans : The goal is to connect with the audiences. I like when the energy is soo high that it give me goose bumps. I like to sweat on stage! I like to have to catch my breath and breathe. that’s when I know I put my all into it!
Q : If someone wants to listen to one of your tracks, which one will you recommend?
Ans : If someone wants to listen to my tracks I would recommend ” Who Is Kash” off my album ( Who Is Kash ). That song will allow listeners to understand who I am and what I stand for.
Q : What’s the best thing that has happened to you after you have become an artist?
Ans : The best thing that has happen to me after being a artist is I can exhale how I feel daily. I can be heard and that’s what most people want!!! We just want to be heard!! I’ve also had the opportunity to meet great people that gave me pointers on not just music but life itself.
