The up-and-rising artist Gwizzz is known for his brilliant recordings. One of his most dazzling songwriting abilities is quite visible in the song ‘Bits Of Stories’which has engaged a larger audience. His lyricism has graceful domination over the playful rapping verses of the song. We thankfully got a chance to witness this extremely magnetic song.
1. Let us know about your music a little bit more.
Ans: It’s dynamic. But a lot of times I tend to make people see painted pictures. And I don’t make hood stuff all the time either. Not intentionally anyway. But In some words to describe my music, dynamic, diverse, exotic, entertaining, fun, etc.
2. Gwizzz, tell us about your musical inspirations, who or what has triggered you to embark upon this journey?.
Ans: Different things in my childhood. Hearing music I didn’t know what it was at the time when I was a toddler or whatever. Then playing it not long after. I still remember playing nursery rhymes on my toy keyboard by ear. All though I wasn’t consistent on the piano as a kid. And hearing rappers and just like listening to it but also realizing in my childhood, I’m around what they talk about. But it’s not the reason for me doing those things as got older. And as far as inspiration, hearing all kinds of music and artists, even outside of my genre. Like Earth Wind and Fire, The Beatles, using that stands out. But that’s just a portion of inspiration. It’s too much to try to explain in 1 day. It goes beyond just music actually, and people.
3. What is the first or the most vivid memory that you have once you started performing music professionally?
Ans: Well, I had a sense of achievement like I always did before then. It was a next-level thing like all the other achievements before and after. But this particular achievement is significant just because I do things more professionally now. But it’s a progressive thing.
4. Tell us a bit more about yourself, we know your stage name but what is the name you are born with?
Ans: My government name is Garon Cummings Nedrick.
5. How did you start your musical journey and how you have managed to survive this daunting industry?
Ans: We’ll everything is still progress. I don’t go by how quickly everybody else is doing their stuff because everybody’s situation is different. So I don’t let anxiety get in my way about the music or the Industry. I’m still independent so I know if the crowd went to hear my music then I have to work the way I have to work and it’ll get to them at the right time.
6. Are you working with any recording partners or labels or you are keeping the journey individual?
Ans: I do have partners. But for the most part, lately, I’m individual with my work. And as far as a record label, as I said in the last answer I am independent, but depending on which way to go I don’t mind being signed for a period of time.
7. If you are given the opportunity to collaborate with any musician of this age who you would have collaborated with?
Ans: I’ll collaborate and work with anybody as long as they wanna work too. But in particular, wishful thinking, I would want to collaborate with goats but most of them are gone. Michael Jackson, Jimi Hendrix, to name a few lol.
8. Your Body language and screen presence in this video are very confident, that being said, do you have any tips for other artists who are willing to upload a video?
Ans: Yes. Be yourself. You don’t have to be a zombie. It’s better to have dynamics in the world, and music doesn’t have a certain image or sound. So be yourself and don’t worry about with someone else thinks of you.
9. Would you like to share any specific memory that you had while making the video ‘Bits Of Stories’?
Ans: Yea because there are people who contribute by just being in the video just because they were there. Such as the homie playing the trombone. I don’t even know him but he was standing there oh and the statue playing the trombone when I was shooting the video. Which you can see at the beginning of the video, and if I’m not mistaken closer up in another part as well
10. Which project you are working on right now?
Ans: I don’t want to talk about that just yet but I’ll keep you updated when it’s time.
11. According to you, what are the basic criteria that any upcoming singers should have to sustain and grow in this music industry?
Ans: I’ll say the in joying make music, consistency, and confidence.
12. Do you want to bring in any changes to this music industry?
Ans: A lot of changes. But a common thing is obviously monkey see monkey do. And generally speaking, the system, media, and people in real life too, like to make things a trend. But people do it to try to be cool. And it’ll be the dumbest thing.
