Jesse Lopez gifts his audience with a well-documented music video that gives them a reason to laugh and have a good time during Quarantine. The singer takes over the music video ‘Quarantine Made Me Do It’ with his outstanding screen presence and the enthusiasm with which he performed to depict the most honest state of all of us being locked at our homes. The song sums up everyone’s life during the lockdown and the lyrics are strikingly honest and genuine. From start to finish, it has an uncanny resembles our daily life as the singer merrily shows how it feels like to be isolated. The video quite aptly summarizes the routine of a person as well.
However, recently our team had the opportunity to have a conversation with him and the artist was more than happy to share his journey with us. And here’s how it went:
Q.What inspired you to choose music as your career?
Music just spoke to me… I learned how to play guitar living in a halfway house at 15 years old. Literally since that day, I’ve played guitar almost every day for a number of hours. I don’t know how else to describe it… its just in my blood.
Q.If not music, then what would be your alternative career option?
Ive literally never though about it… Plan A has always been the only plan.
Q.Whom do you consider as your competition amongst all contemporary music artists?
Luke Combs, Ed Sheeran.
Q.Tell us something about your musical journey so far.
When I was 19 I decided I would always write from personal experience… I never wanted to write a song that doesn’t actually say something.
Q.How is life during Quarantine and how has this whole thing affected your music?
Its been a crazy experience being locked away like this.. But all in all I would say I grew 200% as a musician during this time. I had to learn a lot about the business and how to stay present when online was my only option.
Q.Tell us one thing that is unique in your music?
Melodies! I have a very eclectic background.. Ive done mass amounts of writing in 5 different genres and I think it really comes out in the way I choose to deliver my vocals.
How do you manage to come up with such refreshing concepts every time?
It really is just all personal experience.. I think maybe over the years I’ve just gotten better at putting life on paper and singing it for people.
Is there any new project on which you are working currently?
Always! Im at the point now where I have to be releasing music every couple of months to keep the momentum going.
What would you like to say to your fans?
The loyalty and support I have received over the years has been a blessing a thousand times over… All I can say to you guys is that I love you, and that in my mind I share each and every victory with every single one of you guys. Cause I sure as hell didn’t do this alone.
What changes has music brought into your life?
I think the biggest change its made in my life is perspective.. Writing songs has a way of forcing you to keep an open mind and really process what you’re writing about.. Having traveled and seen so much in the way that I did, homeless and hitch hiking, I really got to see people for their value.
Your latest track is doing massively well worldwide, what would you like to say about it?
Its so crazy how its the song I wrote as a joke with my girlfriend during quarantine… Im just happy so many people saw it, and got a good laugh during all this crazyness.
Any suggestions on how should everyone tackle the pandemic?
Just stay active.. be really creative about what youre capable of and push yourself. This doesn’t have to be a time where “you’re stuck at home”. This can be your chance to do that ONE THING you’ve always told yourself “I would LOVE to do that…. if only I had the time”.
