Henny, the talented artist is accumulating a large number of listeners with his latest soundscape ‘Let Me Tell You Something’. The thematic and rhythmic flow of the track has helped out the artist to reach out to a large number of listeners. He has showcased his talent by creating the track. Recently, we got the opportunity to have a chat with him and this is how it went –
DMR: Hello Mr. Henny, first of all, congratulations on such a big success with the song ‘Let Me Tell You
Something’. What was your reaction after seeing such a huge response from everyone?
Henny: Coming off of “Where they do that at” , a faster track and I slowed it down a bit with “Henny”. I thought I must be headed in the right direction to have captured such an audience to engage with the song!
DMR: How did you come up with the idea for the song?
Henny: I was traveling to Chicago to meet with the CEO of a Hilton property that I manage and took the time to enjoy the city! So much energy and so many people everywhere. I took my family with me so we went to the Art Institute of Chicago and learned a lot! Shout out to my two daughters Justice Redding and Selena Pitchford who are artists , and they inspired us all to go! We learned a lot about the city of Chicago and I felt like we were on a class trip learning about art and history! So I thought “Let Me Tell you Something” would be great to have fun teach the world about my music and fill it with this high energy that I absorbed from Chicago! Big shout out to the city of Chicago! Even took the album cover photos there also!
DMR: What has inspired you to make a song like this?
Henny: Mixed with the elements of where I come from and where I headed! I always think and tell myself learn something about where you are and where you think your going to stay out of trouble as well as never turn your back on knowledge! It’s so powerful, and I took that with my own love for the art of music and the summertime and infused them together to bring the heat and flow back into the music! Music and art were both my first true loves!
DMR: What has influenced you to become a musician?
Henny: I’m glad you said what because I was first influenced by music as an escape. A way to talk about problems and as a kid being heard by people that might take you serious. Then it became more fun as the problems started to become less involved with what we were doing because of the focus I started gaining by planning to be successful and setting goals for myself to become successful! As well as the elements of growing up poor in a poor city and wanting nothing but the best for an older me! Also a ton of artists like LL Cool J, Big Daddy Kane, 2pac, Nas, Jay Z Snoop Dogg, and too many too speak in at that time!
DMR: Where did you learn to make music?
Henny: My brother Jesse Halimon was into house music and started to show us dances and we started listening to a bunch of repetitive music that you can dance too! That quickly inspired me to study up and figure out how to make this type of music but flow more fluently! Talk fast and slow to make people listen and learn the words! It made it become so much fun that I never realized how much work we put into it! We were just hoping we could inspire more people and be heard at that point!
DMR: Is there any new project that you are currently working on?
Henny: Being signed with J Amore’ a record label based out of Detroit and New York we just finished a movie that I’m in called “Making It” shout out to the writers and the meaning behind it just made it to the theaters in Michigan! It’s also released on Amazon Prime! https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/B0B5W3KF2R/ref=atv_dp_share_cu_r I have a few release dates coming up soon with a great producer by the name of Breeze https://instagram.com/beats_breeze?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= and as a team we will have a ton of more music coming out within the next month called “Can’t Stop Hustlen”. So please stay tuned for that!
DMR: When your admirers will get to see your next project?
Henny: Hopefully within the next month! I also have a EP that I’m working on with Breeze, a great friend of mine Ble4ch and a few other artists you might have heard of!
DMR: What intrigued you to become a hip-hop artist?
Henny: The style, the fashion, the struggles in my life that brought me so close to it when I wasn’t feeling myself as well as the great moments that made me proud to be who I am today! The culture! Most importantly how I felt after I did something that inspired others!
DMR: Would you like to try out any other genre of music? If yes, then what will be your first choice?
Henny: Pop music! I like the pace of it ! Fast tracks dance music the feeling behind it. The fans are so great!
DMR: Are you planning to do any show or concert in recent times?
Henny: Yes, my manager and long time friend Bl4ch and I are setting ourselves up to get a few major acts to our area and put a few performances together before this quarter ends so stay tuned and follow me for dates times and where you can get the tickets at! https://hp2street4u.onuniverse.com/
