MNA, the immensely talented artist is spreading his musical charm with brilliant pieces of music. He has created a buzz with his latest song ‘Mercenary’ among all hip-hop music lovers. He has stunned everyone with his outstanding music. Recently, we get the chance to have a chat with him and this is how it went
DMR: Hello Mr MNA, first of all, congratulations on such a massive success on the song ‘Mercenary’. The song has reached out to a lot of audiences and received numerous positive responses. How do you feel about it?
MNA: The responses have been absolutely insane. I am so grateful to have reached the tens of thousands of streams on this track, and I am so honored to have so many people out here enjoying. I’m getting a lot of reposts, shares, and direct messages about it. So exciting.
DMR: How did you come up with the concept of making ‘Mercenary’?
MNA: So, one thing people don’t know about MNA is that I am a huge Slade Wilson fan. In the comics, he’s a Mercenary and goes all around the world as a gun for hire but living the high life with hundreds of millions of dollars. I compared the fast-paced lifestyle of the character to being an entrepreneur. At the time I was reading a lot of Slade Wilson comics.
DMR: What has inspired you to make this song?
MNA: Well, Mercenary by MNA is an album about the dark fantasy world in which rap culture and the entertainment industry exist. Mercenary, which compares a businessman to a gun for hire, is an album and story that depicts the battle inside of every entrepreneur. How fighting for one’s money, power, career, legacy, and place in the world can often resemble the personal sacrifice of war and soldiers, albeit for profit.
DMR: Would you like to share some special moments while making the song?
MNA: This album was inspired by the personal successes and two-year journey of rap artist MNA and his music production company MNA Industries in the music world. “Mercenary” was recorded by City’s Best Sounds in Olney, MD and was released on January 22, 2022.
DMR: You started your musical career at such early age. What has motivated you to become a musician?
MNA: To me there is simply no place I would rather be. Being in music is part of who I am, I don’t know how to be anyone else. I love it. It’s my favorite thing in the world. Becoming a master of this craft is what I am interested in.
DMR: You made music in the hip-hop and rock genre. Is there anything you would like to try out next?
MNA: I would love to explore more electronic music. I have had collaborations with Yassine DJS, and WLLY. They have been met with positive reception.
DMR: What encourages you to make new music?
MNA: I would say what motivates me the most is the passion for growing as a musician. In today’s day and age, it’s so easy to get caught up in the numbers, likes, streams, popularity, and money. For me, I don’t focus on any of that. For me, there is no place I would rather be than making music. Not only is it therapy for me, but I enjoy the journey, and all the amazing producers, beat makers, artists, friends, and business associates that we meet along the way.
DMR: Who do you admire the most as a musician?
MNA: So many, I would say Guns N Roses, Eminem, Kanye West, Falling in Reverse, Disturbed, Hinder, Lil Wayne, & Dr. Dre. A blend of rap and rock groups.
DMR: Are there any new projects that are you working on right now?
MNA: My new album “Blessed” is coming. I am also working on so many YouTube covers. I am always up to something. I rarely take a day off.
DMR: Are you planning to go on a tour or do any shows in the coming days?
MNA: As of right now no. But stay tuned to the MNA fan pages.
DMR: After such a big success on ‘Mercenary’ what you are thinking of making?
MNA: Next year I would love to get into the studio with some great beats and make a Mercenary 2.0. I would love to continue the story.
DMR: Would you like to give a message to your fans?
MNA: Times are tough right now and it’s so easy to get consumed in dark periods and become discouraged. I say to look at this moment (in whatever your dreams are) to keep fighting. See this as an opportunity to build something when the world has gone quiet. Things will get better, and by building yourself up now, you could really set yourself up in your industry in the coming decade. Keep going, keep having faith, and please never give up. Life is worth living!
