The phenomenal hip-hop artist METAPHYSICAL is growing in the music industry with his brilliant soundscape. Currently, he is getting a lot of attention for his soundtrack ‘The Dirt’. The thematic and rhythmic flow of them garnered a lot of listeners from all around the world. This independent artist has generated a buzz among all hip-hop enthusiasts with his pieces of music. Recently we got the chance to have a chat with him and this is how it went-
DMR: Hello METAPHYSICAL, it’s our honor to get in touch with you. First of all congratulations on all the success with the song ‘The Dirt’. Have you ever thought this song would become such a big hit?
METAPHYSICAL: When this song goes global and I get paid from it THEN I will think of this song as that. I’m a military veteran living in Compton still living off those benefits and my Social Security.
DMR: How did you come up with this soundscape?
METAPHYSICAL: The music producer of the song 1st had this odd sound on a beat while I was writing a song during my time unhoused and the sound just gave me a different prospective writing this song.
DMR: Any special memory while making this piece of music?
METAPHYSICAL: No The Dirt was written on the fly.
DMR: What has inspired you to create this song?
METAPHYSICAL: God made The Dirt and The Dirt don’t hurt. Being unhoused was a challenge. There’s that saying, ” God will never give you more than you can handle. ” I’ve learned from the streets that statement is wrong. What you should be saying is, ” God will give you FAR MORE than you can handle, so you can give it back to him! “
DMR: You are a hip-hop artist, what has encouraged you to become one?
METAPHYSICAL: I’ve dreamed of being a global hip hop lyricist ever since I was in 8th grade in junior high school ( the 80’s )
DMR: Is there any other kind of music that you want to try out in the future?
METAPHYSICAL: Alternative
DMR: How do you manage to be an independent artist?
METAPHYSICAL: Keep my name updated and out there on the internet AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.
DMR: Where do you learn to make music?
METAPHYSICAL: Goshen, California.
DMR: What are your biggest achievements till now?
METAPHYSICAL: Surving being unhoused in LA for almost 5 years. The streets are very rough at night especially being 6′ 2″ weighing 190lbs with a 25lb backpack on walking up somebody’s street who’s never seen you there before. How about you needing to defecate and your holding it in waiting to use a restaurant bathroom because you don’t want to defecate someplace hidden out of sight. Now restaurant’s make you buy something before you use their restrooms and you hope they accept EBT!
DMR: Are you planning to go on any tour in the upcoming days?
METAPHYSICAL: No tours have blessed me that privilege yet.
DMR: Are you working on any new projects right now?
METAPHYSICAL: Yes
DMR: Any message you want to give to your fans?
METAPHYSICAL: Please love ALL that you have in self. Some people out there believe in God and some don’t, but to every human being please just love everything YOU have in self. I’ve met people missing arms, hands, legs, that are blind, that can’t hear, can’t see, can’t talk and can’t walk and they all STILL daily give respects to the moment. Shoot, I had to wake up from a near month long coma to realize I was in the hospital with my left arm hanging in a sling after being broke in two places with the girl I was dating at the time telling me I just woke up from a coma to convince me to pray everyday giving thanks for the moment. I almost died and had no idea it even happened!
