Hello Mr. PablOGt, first of all congratulations on all the success for your latest release ‘I Got Words’.

PablOGt

DMR: Which name would you like to promote your work in?

PablOGt: PablOGt

DMR: Describe the thematic and musical linearity of your soundscape.

PablOGt: Hip Hop and Alternative Rap.

DMR: What are your new releases?

PablOGt: I GOT WORDS (July 2, 2022)

WHAT? (May 9, 2022)

A GUN OF MY OWN (June 6, 2022)

DMR: Where do you hail from?

PablOGt: Born and raised in New Amsterdam, Guyana, South America. Lived in Poland, Brooklyn, Hillcrest and Atlanta.

DMR: Are you associated with any record label or production house?

PablOGt: No.

DMR: How important are live gigs in the career of an artist?

PablOGt: Live gigs are like fresh air to artists. We need that connection with live audiences to validate the quality of our work. The more, the better.

DMR: What is the responsibility of the audience in the expansion of music and artists around the world?

PablOGt: Audience should be honest and constructive in their support of young artists, especially the fledgling ones with potential. Show us some love. Be nice. Of course, if we suck, they should et us know as well because they deserve only the best for their time and hard-earned cash.

DMR: Which old-school and new-school musicians inspire your work the most?

PablOGt: The storytelling of Bill Withers and Linton Kwesi Johnson; the consciousness of Nina Simone and Marvin Gaye; the poetic flair of Jill Scott and Kendrick Lamar; the unapologetically raw urban flow of Jay Z and Kanye West.

DMR: Do you think the music industry will change its course post 2020?

PablOGt: Yes. The world is changing. Change is the only constant. Remember those Dinosaurs? Digital is here to stay and still evolving but vinyl is also making a comeback. I trust the key players in the music industry who were able to survive and even thrive during the pandemic. Also, technology has leveled the playing field and artists by the millions have more control over their work and destiny.

DMR: What are your upcoming plans?

PablOGt: I am a prolific writer. I plan to explore Jazz poetry i.e. writing poetic lyrics for cool jazz beats and dropping an album or EP in the Fall. I also plan to create lines of promotional products related to my best-selling tacks eg I GOT WORDS.
