The LA-based rapper Tizzle Kidd Fitz recently released his evocative new music video, ‘Highlife: The Beginning’. We caught an interview to find out more about the music track, his journey as an independent artist so far, and a few more. Here’s how it went –
DMR. Firstly, let me congratulate you, Tizzle Kidd Fitz for your massive success on your latest musical venture ‘Highlife: The Beginning’. It is great to interview you. For those who are new to your music, where do you come from, and when did you first start creating music?
Tizzle. Im from Los Angeles CA, and I started making music in 2015.
DMR. Enlighten us about ‘Highlife: The Beginning’, a powerful soundscape and performance. How did the track come to life and what does it represent for you?
Tizzle. Highlife embarks the spirit of freedom and high living.
DMR. Have your influences changed over time or do you follow the same artists and albums that always connected with you?
Tizzle. I watch and learn from the same artist that inspired me in the beginning. it keeps the innovation fresh and new.
DMR. What keeps you motivated to create to create music, and what is your biggest ambition right now?
Tizzle. Seeing the world move and how everything changes inspires me to continue to create. To be able to talk to the generation keeps me motivated.
DMR. What themes or feelings generally prompt you to start writing new tracks?
Tizzle. Motivation Inspiration Fomo inspires me to go record every time.
DMR. Do you create your tracks and if so then how do you decide which direction to take things?
Tizzle. My team and I create the music and decide what we do with each song or album. We are very strategic with our release strategy.
DMR. Do you think collaboration is an important part of what you do, or of your plans, or do you prefer to keep things solo?
Tizzle. Collaboration is important and working with other artists opens more doors. i currently have an album with 5 features on it.
DMR. What’s the element that surprises your listeners each time?
Tizzle. The consistency in content and delivery always surprises my listeners. Different beats may make them think my sound will be one way while it’s the way it is. The classic Tizzle Kidd sound and you can feel it rock your soul.
DMR. What’s been your best experience as a performer so far, and on the flip side what made it difficult for you to become a successful rapper?
Tizzle. Best experience as an artist is performing at the Aura in Arizona in front of 500 very intimate environment. What makes it hard is remembering dates my label Stones Entertainment gives me cause I smoke so much.
DMR. What is your plan of action for the coming year?
Tizzle. Keep on going and believing in your music and do things that you are proud of telling the world all the time!
