In the present time, rock music is incomplete without the band Radio 45. This profound band has shown their talent with all their outstanding soundscapes. Currently, this group of rock music is achieving a lot of success and recognition with their track ‘Some Kind of Wonderful’. The lyrically and musically enriched creation has generated a buzz among all the music enthusiasts. Recently we got an opportunity to have a conversation with this amazing band, and this is how it went-
DMR: Hello to the whole team of Radio 45, first of congratulations on all the success for ‘Some Kind of Wonderful’. This song has turned out a blast, how you all are feeling about that?
Radio 45: Humbled. It’s a great song to play live and it always packs a dance floor. We’re excited to breathe new life into the song and turn it on to fresh ears.
DMR: How did you all come up with this song?
Radio 45: Radio 45’s mission is to get rooms moving and grooving to our sincere signature style of authentic Rock ‘n’ Roll. We select tunes based on our “danceability algorithm” and this song has a very high score.
DMR: What is the reason behind making this soundtrack?
Radio 45: In the studio we re-imagine songs that rank well on our danceability algorithm to help them reach an even higher score. We test these songs with live audiences at every gig — and we record the very best for the world to hear.
This song is one of our most favored songs.
DMR: Have you ever imagined that the song will be appreciated by such a huge audience?
Radio 45: Nope. We’re delighted that people like it. We love the song — and our audiences pack a dance floor when they hear it.
DMR: As a band, how are you managing to make everything from scratch?
Radio 45: There’s never been a better time to record music to share with the world. There are *so many* tools available. We’re a technically savvy lot — so recording, mixing, and marketing the music comes naturally to us.
DMR: How do you all coordinate with each other while making a soundtrack?
Radio 45: We record tracks at a central hub in Pittsburgh (Oakwood Studios) but — at times — record tracks and home and submit them to the hub online.
Email — text messaging — and our band website has a private, “backstage portal” we log into.
DMR: What is the story behind forming such an outstanding band?
Radio 45: We call this story the “The O-Needers Corollary”.
In the film Tom Hanks’s film “That Thing You Do!” band members Jimmy, Lenny and Guy “Skitch” Patterson looked to play shows at roller rinks, Youth for Christ jamborees, rock-and-roll shows in Steubenville, Youngstown and Pittsburgh — Western Pennsylvania— but they are fictional characters.
Radio 45 is the real deal. We’ve actually played at roller rinks and Youth for Christ jamborees. We’ve actually played Steubenville, Youngstown and Pittsburgh. We’ve been there and we’ve done that — for real.
We’re a self-proclaimed O-Needers band (just like in the movie) and have even released music under that title. See our discography at https://radio45.sodapop.llc/discography/
DMR: Who has inspired you to become a musician?
Radio 45: The Monkees. Seriously. And the Beatles. Journey. AC/DC.
DMR: Rock has always been your genre, is there anything that you would like to try in the future?
Radio 45: Yes, we’d like to try *every other genre* — we love to experiment.
DMR: Is there any new project that you are working on right now?
Radio 45: We’re still finishing up the “Hear and Now” project — but have a heavier “black album” on deck to be recorded next spring.
DMR: Are you planning to do any tours or shows in the coming days?
Radio 45: We play lives shows under different names at time clubs and venues. On July first — the date of the release of this song — we’re appearing at a resort on the New York / Pennsylvania border.
DMR: Any message you would like to give your fans out there?
Radio 45: Thanks for listening. And dancing. We hope you like what you hear. We’re grateful for each and every listen.
Thank you so much for taking out your precious time and all the very best for your upcoming projects.
