The emerging Dj from the Czech Republic, Ríša The Kid is garnering a lot of attention from the music enthusiasts with his latest release ‘dj cassette mixtape’. The profound musical mix is gathering more ears. He has catered the track by compiling a lot of pleasing songs. In this track, he has collaborated with Corpse Husband. We got an opportunity to have a conversation with him about the track, and this is how it went:
DMR: Hello, Ríša The Kid, it is a pleasure to talk to you. First of all congratulations on your new release ‘dj cassette mixtape’. It has amazed all of your fans. Would you like to say something about this track?
Ríša The Kid: Thank you so much. It’s a huge honor for me to be here, thanks for having me. This mixtape means a lot to me. D.c.m. (dj cassette mixtape) is my YouTube series of mixtapes I am working on right now. This particular mixtape is special to me, I’ve put so much effort into it. I am glad so many people like it.
DMR: What was the inspiration behind making this?
Ríša The Kid: My inspiration was Corpse Husband, his music, his streams and everything. I am also inspired by Niko Yaitanes who is a playlist curator and by Neels Visser who is a dj and model. They all inspired me to pursue this creative dream of mine.
DMR: How was your experience of working with Corpse Husband as we all know you are a huge admirer of him?
Ríša The Kid: I wouldn’t say I am really a fan of his, he inspires me. Working on this project was tiring, but such a unique experience for me. It was all worth it.
DMR: What brought you to the music industry?
Ríša The Kid: Thinking back to it, it was really this one movie called We Are Your Friends. It is a movie about an aspiring DJ, everyone says it is trash, but I fell in love with it. It inspired me to do something like that myself and here I am.
DMR: What created your love for punk?
Ríša The Kid: Pop punk was always the genre of my heart. Machine Gun Kelly then released his pop-punk album Tickets To My Downfall and that threw me right back to the pop-punk era. I started making my own music and pop-punk influenced the majority of it.
DMR: From when did you decide that you will become a Dj?
Ríša The Kid: I decided when I realized I would hate every other job I would do.
DMR: Is there any project that you are currently working on?
Ríša The Kid: I am currently working on putting out as many dj cassette mixtapes as possible. I am currently working on one with a YouTube channel called NoClouds which reposts pop-punk music. This one is gonna be interesting.
DMR: How do you manage to work as an independent artist?
Ríša The Kid: I am still at school so it is not easy sometimes. I am trying to use every moment I can. Even at school, when I have some free time I go to the library and work on pc there. I also contact a lot of collaborators from my phone from school.
DMR: Are there any tips you would like to give all the aspiring musicians?
Ríša The Kid: If you are just starting out focus on building an audience from the very beginning and stay consistent with it. I would recommend growing a following on Twitter or a discord server. Make music in the shadows and then once you have a decent following put the music out and magic will start happening.
DMR: How would you describe your musical journey?
Ríša The Kid: I am more of a creative person than just a musician, my journey to music went from all kinds of art and creative things. What I do now combines it all into one huge art I can do and I love that.
DMR: Is there any different kind of genre you would like to work on?
Ríša The Kid: I would like to combine house music and pop-punk and create my own unique genre.
DMR: Any message for your fans you would like to give?
Ríša The Kid: I got recently sponsored by Glytch Energy and they gave me a 10% discount code for my fans. Use my code KRONOS on any product on their website https://glytchenergy.com/ and you will get 10% off.
I am so glad I have all of you who I can rely on. Thank you for having my back and always supporting me. Stay tuned because it’s coming…
It’s been a pleasure talking to you. We would be eagerly waiting for your next release, and once again congratulations on your success with ‘dj cassette mixtape’.
