Young singer-songwriter Mr. Depression has been spreading his musical wonders across the globe armed with his incredible talent. He is a romantic man and has big plans for this Valentine’s Day. He is all set to releases his next rhythmic masterpiece, ‘Dance under the Stars’ on February 14th on major music streaming platforms.
Recently he sat down with us for an interview where he answered some of the most requested questions. He also talked about his future plans for his music career.
Hello Mr. Depression! Thank you for taking some time out of your busy schedule and doing this interview with us. Let’s begin:
How 2022 is treating you so far? What does it mean for your music career?
It’s been well and good. I notice my music had have a major impact on the world and I’ve been getting more notice since last year this year I wasn’t really expecting to have my career become much more better these years and I feel as I just want to give my heart out to the world.
What is your real name and how did you come up with the stage name Mr. Depression? Is there any special significance behind it?
My Real name is Zashaun Smith, I’ve come up with the music name after noticing my starting name LA Lost Djieazyp was fitting my lifestyle and music I normally sing about life, love, and pain.
So, you are dropping your upcoming single, ‘Dance under the Stars’ on February 14th. Is there any particular reason why you chose Valentine’s Day to release the track?
I set in my heart that every year I’ll release a song on Valentine’s day
Is there someone special who is the inspiration behind the song and did you write it by yourself?
I basically sing this song out to my amazing love of my life and someone who very special to me and I did write these myself
Tell us about the subject matter of the song and how is it going to impact the listeners?
This song is fall of love and something you would want to sing to your lady
What kind of beats and resonance did you use to create the single?
I brought the beat full license I own mix and masterfully also just recorded off my phone But I’m a pro with it by now.
Tell us about your singing style in brief. Did you experiment in any way with it for the track?
So mainly it’s pop and rnb mix as I am known as a singer/songwriter
Do you work under a record label or have your own production company?
I am an still independent artist and probably looking to sign in future once the right opportunity come around
When did you start making music and what drove you to do so?
I started by whenever I was on a rock band and I then became a solo artist and my life was very rough and music was the only thing to get my mind off things.
Which artists are your musical inspirations and what did you learn from them?
Mainly I never looked up to any other artist because many have failed during their career by getting mixed up in the wrong activities and wrong doings don’t get me wrong you have many that are successful but go the wrong way of doing things instead of the right way.
Are you working on any other project right now? What do you plan to release after this one?
I am working on another project these will turn into a major blog on YouTube and present few of my unreleased music in that blog and after the album will be released between March and April.
