When it comes to hip hop and rap music, Wavy C is the name that can actually heal your mind with interesting beats. His recent composition ‘Heavyweight’is creating buzz in the music streaming site. However, this rockstar has overwhelmed the fans and followers in youtube. Let’s check his conversation based on ‘Heavyweight’ –
Which music genre gives you much comfort?
– I believe Rap is where im most comfortable. I like hard hitting beats, that I can make songs to and tell my story to. I also consider Rap and hip hop two different genres. I am more of a Rap head, than a hip hop head.
Tell us something about your latest released music video ‘Heavyweight’.
-My video heavy weight is off my upcoming mixtape “Wait a minute”. Wait a minute will be my re-introduciton to the game. I have learned a lot of new things on this musical journey of mind. I believe now is the time to use what I learn and get to the next level. Also the heavyweight beat, is originally the song “freestyle” by lil baby. The reason my version sounds so different is because I never heard lil baby’s version till after mine was finished.
Who is the inspiration for your music career?
-I believe the inspiration for my music career is my mom, dad, and friends. My mom and dad have always wanted me to be in the entertainment business, they have always said I have the face and the personality that people are looking for. And my friends like blvck lefty and nickdsss who also rap inspire my music career. They push me to be the best, and make sure that im always on my A game.
What are the main things that you prioritize while rapping?
– when making a rap song, I always gotta make sure the beat is dope. I gotta make sure the consumer as well as myself will feel the beat or at least enjoy it. After I have found the beat, that is when I create a hook. I always want my hooks to be catchy and vibey. The catchier the hook the better the song. You want a hook people can sing a lot too. After I have found my hook that is when I write at least four different verses. Because I tear all my verses apart and add all the good parts of the verses and make it one super verse. Cuz theres nothing worse than a song that has a good beat and hook, but a bad verse.
Tell us some of the renowned names with whom you will love to collaborate with in future.
– I would love to collab with some of my favorite artist like; 2chainz, schoolboy Q, nipsey hussle, boogie blueface and much more…I would love to collab with all west coast artist to put Cali back on the map.
Lyricism or rhythmic blend – which field get priority in your music?
-I believe I try to add a little bit of both aspects to my music. Because the song has to sound right. What ever you are saying has to sound good on the beat. So you for sure need that rhythmic blend. But I also have to add lyricism. When I make a song its how you get to know me a little bit. I don’t want to make a song about nothing. That not me. I want you to be able to listen to the music as well as hear the music.
Please mention the features that make a track truly powerful.
-I believe the beat make the song powerful. A beat can sound powerful without any voice on it. As well the beat sets the tone and the mood of the song. So if you have a powerful beat then more times than none, your song should sound powerful.
‘Heavyweight’– what are the main features that have made your track unique?
– I believe my track is so unique because if my voice and the realness of the lyrics. I also believe since there is no set hook, it draws you in a little more.
Tell us about your career – the ups and downs that you have faced so far.
– my career has been a lot of struggle. Last year 2018 was my first year by myself on this journey with no manager or no team. My manager dropped me from the team, because he didn’t believe I was working hard enough. It was frustrating to have someone tell me i’m not working hard enough. In the end it it a fire under my ass and worked out for the best.
Is there any upcoming project that you want to mention?
– my goal this year is to drop three projects. But the one upcoming is called “Wait a minute”. It is my re introduction in to the rap game. Hopefully people listen to it and think to their selves, “Wait a minute”, “who is this?” that’s my whole goal. Also to show people I been grinding.
Any particular tips for the upcoming rappers?
– go 100% on this rap shit. Don’t take it for granted. You don’t need anyones backing. DIY!! Do It Yourself. Once you get your plan in motion people will start to support you. Its going to be a lot of rough times, but if you get through those there will also be a lot of sunshine. So just keep your head up and keep moving.
