Collaborating with Iconika and Rogue Black Studios in Hollywood, CA, Tony Cobain has come up with his latest hip-hop single ‘Night Stars’. This charming banger is filled with a head-bopping musical groove which is well complemented with witty lyrics and flawless performance by the artist. The single has also been released with an official music video and currently creating a huge buzz in the music industry. We thank Tony for sharing a few words with us while he is busy on his upcoming projects.
DMR: Night Stars’ is truly an iconic piece. How did you come up with the concept?
Tony Cobain: It was a collaborative effort. We wanted to create something retro, yet new and this was the outcome.
DMR: You incorporate different styles and flow in your deliverance. How do you brush your skills?
Tony Cobain: I kinda just go with the beat. The beat dictates my flows and cadence. I would hum a melody while listening to beats and record it on my phone, that’s how I normally come up with flows.
DMR: Do you enjoy freestyling?
Tony Cobain: I’m actually don’t lol. I’m not much of a freestyler.
DMR: How did your knack for hip-hop music grow?
Tony Cobain: I grew up listening to the genre, but it wasn’t until I started doing hip-hop that I gained a better appreciation for the craft.
DMR: Who inspired you the most to pursue your career in music?
Tony Cobain: To be honest the response and messages I get from the people. That’s what makes me continue.
DMR: Other than being a well-seasoned rapper; you are also an actor and a comedian. How do you manage everything without overlapping?
Tony Cobain: It’s all about management and checklist lol. I try to be very organized and set certain goals for each craft. I don’t overwhelm myself. I do a little at a time.
DMR: As a seasoned rapper, how do you like to craft your tracks? Tune first or the lyrics?
Tony Cobain: For me I have to have the tune. The tune dictates my lyrics. I can hear a tune and an entire story will come to me.
DMR: What tips would you like to give to emerging rappers in the industry?
Tony Cobain: The he advice I would give is to be you. Don’t allow the Industry to dictate your trajectory. Stay true to you.
DMR: Do you find any obstacles in the modern hip-hop industry?
Tony Cobain: One of the obstacles I’d say is with there being a lot of artist you have to do a little more to get heard.
DMR: What names come to your mind when you hear ‘Dream Collaboration’?
Tony Cobain: I’d love to collaborate with Bruno Mars and Romeo Santos. That would be cool. Drake as well. Maybe Kanye.
DMR: Would you like to shed some light on the upcoming musical project?
Tony Cobain: I do have an album coming that I’m working on. Different Energy 2. This album is all aspects of my character. It comes out spring 2023.
DMR: What would you like to tell to your listeners?
Tony Cobain: I would tell my listeners to never give up today you may have an obstacle tomorrow you could be in your perceived place of happiness. Laughter is life!
