Diljit, who recently concluded his months-long pan-India Dil-Luminati tour, took a glimpse of his meeting with the Prime Minister to his Instagram page and posted it. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday met acclaimed Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh, calling him ‘truly multifaceted’. The singer reciprocated by saying it was ‘a very memorable interaction’ and a ‘fantastic start to 2025.’ Sharing memorable moments from the meeting, Prime Minister Modi wrote, ‘A great interaction with Diljit Dosanjh! He’s truly multifaceted, blending talent and tradition. We connected over music, culture, and more…’
As Prime Minister Modi heaped praises on Diljit, the Punjabi singer, sharing his own experience, wrote, ‘A fantastic start to 2025. A very memorable meeting with PM @narendramodiJi. We talked about a lot of things including music of course!’ This was Diljit Dosanjh’s first meeting with PM Modi.Diljit, who recently concluded his months-long blockbuster Dil-Luminati tour, also took to his X and posted some pictures of his meeting with the Prime Minister.
During the interaction, both Diljit and Prime Minister Modi talked about the power of yoga and shared their experiences of their travels across India. Pointing to Diljit’s humble beginnings, Prime Minister Modi said, ‘When a boy from an Indian village goes out in the world and shines, then, I feel really proud.’ As Diljit was talking about his experience across India, Prime Minister Modi said, ‘India is a big country, and it derives its strength from there. That is why it is a vibrant society.’
At the end, Diljit also presented the Prime Minister with a poster of his Dil-Luminati tour of India.Diljit Dosanjh concluded his Dil-Luminati tour in India with a grand performance in Ludhiana. He shared a video on Instagram and bowed in front of the crowd in respect as he wrapped the tour. However, his last concert was embroiled in legal controversy due to a complaint by a professor who objected to the singer’s songs promoting alcohol.

Dosanjh faced similar challenges in other cities during his tour. In November, he was served a legal notice in Hyderabad for allegedly performing songs that glorify alcohol and violence. Meanwhile, in Indore, he responded to allegations of ticket sales being conducted on the black market.The singer performed in multiple cities, including Jaipur, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Bengaluru, Indore, and Guwahati.
Recently, Diljit shared a video of himself dedicating his concert to the former PM Manmohan Singh, who died at 92 on December 26, 2025. In the video, he said, ‘Today’s concert is dedicated to former late Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He led a very simple life. He never used to answer back or talk ill, which is quite impossible in a profession like politics.
