A.R. Rahman, the Chennai-based composer who has taken Indian music to a whole new level, will be now taking his live performances overseas. This year in October, the singer-composer will be performing live in Australia, in Sydney and Melbourne. He is all set to enthrall the Land Down Under with not just one, but a series of live performances this upcoming October. This will mark his return to Australian stages for the first time in seven years. The delightful news was shared by the Oscar-winning composer on social media himself on Monday. The concerts will happen at Melbourne’s iconic Rod Laver Arena on October 17. This live performance will be followed by another live concert at the ICC Theatre in Sydney on October 19.
“Australia, I am pleased to announce that I am heading your way for two very special shows in Melbourne and Sydney this October,” the Oscar-winning music composer, writer, and singer announced on X, formerly known as Twitter. He continued his post by saying, “Sign up to the waitlist to access tickets first -https://bit.ly/ARRAHMAN-WAITLIST Pre-Sale: Wednesday, 21 August 2024, 11AM GP On Sale: Friday, 23 August 2024, 12PM”. Fans are already eager to secure their places at the concert so they are pretty excited to take advantage of pre-sale tickets. As per Rahman’s announcement, the Pre-Sale will be starting on August 21 at 10 am local time. The general sale will be starting on August 23 at 11 am local time.
The excited fans showered comments under his post, where one fan wrote, “Congratulations 👏”, and another said, “A.R Rahman Sir.The Dean of Music University.” Another comment read, “Can’t wait sir. Hope to meet you in person in Sydney. IA,” while the other comments said, “Book the tickets 🎟 ✨ 😎”, “🥵🥵🥵ARR 🥰🥰🥰”, “Thalaivaaa ❤️🔥”, “It would be amazing to experience this in real time.”, “Great to see you sir🙏🙏🇮🇳🙏”, “Waiting thalaivaa ❤️❤️ It’s really a dream come true for me 🥳🥰”, etc. One heartfelt comment read, “Ar Rahman sir I love you to the corest however I would like to have a concert of your in my home state please make a concert in Hyderabad or in Andhra Pradesh we will welcome you with our heartiest congratulations and greetings for sure. We are waiting to hear from our state 💗” requesting the music maestro to hold a concert in his home country.
