The Boston-rooted band has left the world heartbroken and tensed as they announced that they are forced to push back their final concert after Tyler damaged his vocal cord while performing.
The band mentioned while announcing the dates, ‘While Joey Kramer remains a beloved founding member of Aerosmith, he has regrettably decided to sit out the currently scheduled touring dates to focus his full attention on his family and health,’ Further added, ‘Joey’s unmistakable and legendary presence behind the drum kit will be sorely missed.’
The band has experience beforehand of dealing with Tyler’s health, they were forced to cancel concerts at the band’s Las Vegas residency at the time when Tyler started a treatment last year.
Steven chose his Instagram account to share his feelings with the fans that he is ‘heartbroken’ to announce the news of postponing Aerosmith’s farewell tours due to Tyler’s injury. Briefly said, ‘I’m heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next thirty days,I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday’s show that led to subsequent bleeding. We’ll need to postpone a few dates so that we can come back and give you the performance you deserve.’
However, the band announced their long-awaited farewell concert ‘Peace Out’ in May which was supposed to be in Philadelphia, posted on Instagram, saying, ‘After 50 years, 10 world tours, and playing for over 100 million fans… It’s time for one last go!’
The fans who already bought the tickets were promised to be honored for the new dates and those who would not be able to attend were assured of getting refunds of their tickets and have been asked to contact the purchasing point for more details. Concerts for Detroit Chicago, Washington, Toronto, Cleveland, and Raleigh got postponed.
Live Nation, producing the farewell trek of Aerosmith stated while making the announcement, ‘It’s not goodbye it’s PEACE OUT! Get ready and walk this way, you’re going to get the best show of our lives,” read a statement announcing the tour.Every night will celebrate the five decades of Aerosmith’s groundbreaking hits as they celebrate 50 years as America’s greatest rock band.’
Aerosmith released the new dates of their last tour, fans remain hopeful to experience the musical rollercoaster for the one last time, The dates are given below :
- Monday, Jan. 29, 2024 — Detroit, Michigan, at Little Caesars Arena
- Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024 — Chicago, Illinois, at United Center
- Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024 — Washington, D.C., at Capital One Arena
- Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024 — Toronto, Ontario, at Scotiabank Arena
- Monday, Feb. 26, 2024 — Raleigh, North Carolina, at PNC Arena
- Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024 — Cleveland, Ohio, at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse
Although the band was supposed to complete the farewell tour within January of 2024 now they will have to extend the tour to February as they rescheduled the dates.
