Imagine a specific Android phone user get to use Apple music. Sounds impossible? But the recent news where Apple has stated that a free update for the Apple Music subscribers that added the lossless audio streaming and spatial audio with support for Dolby Atmos can now be accessed by the Android users too could make it possible!
As it seems that Apple will automatically play the Dolby music on all Beats headphones, and AirPods that have a W1 or H1 chip. Not just that it will also play as built-in speakers in the latest versions of iPad, iPhone, and Mac. Furthermore, Apple Music is all set to add new Dolby music consistently and it shall also curate an exclusive set of Dolby Atmos playlist to help the audiophiles find the music they love.
Yes. It was last year when Google had apparently shut down its Google Play Music App for the users to voyage to YouTube music. Even though some of the longtime Android users aren’t elated with the news as they disagree that YouTube is up to par but for the high-quality music lovers, the latest Apple Music update is a blessing! But, not all Android devices can support Atmos yet.
The lossless update would be available across all Android devices and Apple has included all the usual warnings as on iOS about it consuming a bit more data, as it happens on Apple’s own platform. Apple Music advises the users that external hardware like a DAC is needed if they wish to step up to the high resolution lossless.
And, also the Spatial audio support on the Android part is also limited. Even though the exclusive features work with any headphone, similar to iPhone, Apple has noted that the phone needs to support the Dolby Atmos in its audio section of the Apple Music’s settings. That’s right.
There are users with more high-end devices who now have a tough time looking out for the Atmos there. But this is the best as well as the easiest way to check whether or not the phone is capable of the new Spatial audio playback.
Even before Apple sent out an official announcement, the beta version of Apple Music for Android had actually revealed the launch of lossless and high-resolution audio features. But thankfully, now both are available on the regular Apple Music app for Android users.
