On AR Rahman‘s 58th birthday, the profound singer-composer announced a new collaboration with KM Music Conservatory. He has collaborated with this music institute to launch awards named, Bharat Maestro Awards. The awards are for honoring legendary Indian classical music artists. It is the legendary artists who have inspired many individuals to lead them on the path to becoming successful music artists. Therefore, it is his way of showing respect and honor to the music maestros.
With the Bharat Maestro Awards, Rahman is trying to recognize the enduring influence of Indian classic music artists in the industry. This is going to be the way of nurturing the art and the artists. Bharat Maestro Awards are all about ensuring the influence of classical music on the future generation by giving recognition to unforgettable artists.
The Oscar and Grammy-winning artist has said ‘The greatest joy of a guru is to witness the success and growth of their students, and it is this bond that the Bharat Maestro Awards seeks to celebrate. He has also added by saying ‘The Conservatory has always sought to bridge the gap between tradition and modernity, creating opportunities for young artists to develop their craft while staying grounded in the cultural fabric of India. With this annual award being instituted, I want to support in building an ecosystem that will also fuel immersive experiences in the arena of music.
With the BMA, AR Rahman is willing to pay tribute to all the music legends who have passed away while contributing their charm to the world of music. In the Indian class music, many phenomenal contributions are unforgettable. For that reason, he is giving tribute to all of them. Along with all these, he is also glorifying the teacher-student relationship that has been often seen in the Indian classic music scenario.
As of now, Rahman talked about the BMA mentor panel. In this panel, there will be music artists like Asha Bhosle, Bombay Jayashri, AjoyChakrabarty, and Amjad Ali Khan. Along with these, in the advisory board, there will be SaiShravanam, IlaPaliwal, FathimaRafiq, Bharat Bala, Khatija Rahman, Clint Valladares, and Adam Greig.
