Asha Bhosle Meets Home Minister Amit Shah In Mumbai

Veteran singer Asha Bhosle met Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday in Mumbai. The occasion was the unveiling of the singer’s photobiography, a compilation of her pictures throughout her life. In a video shared by several publications on social media, the duo was seen sitting on a white couch together. For the special occasion, where Best of Asha was unveiled by the country’s home minister, the legendary singer wore a floral cream saree. In the clip, Asha Ji was also seen singing the popular retro song ‘Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar’ from the 1961 film Hum Dono. While she was singing, the home minister was seen smiling and enjoying the euphonious song.

Asha’s granddaughter Zanai Bhosle was also present on the occasion. She was the one who shared several pictures of the meeting on her Instagram handle. In one of those photos, Amit Shah and Zanai Bhosle were seen greeting each other with folded hands. Zanai was also seen in a suit while proud grandmother Asha Ji smiled and looked at them. She captioned the post, “Fantastic way to start the day (folded hands emoji)!” the post was also shared on Zanai’s Instagram stories with the caption “Blessed day” which Asha re-shared on her Instagram stories as well. City BJP chief Ashish Shelar was also present at the occasion.

As per reports shared by the news agency ANI, the home minister met with the veteran singer to unveil her photobiography Best of Asha. It was initiated and conceptualized by Mumbai Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president and MLA Ashish Shelar. Best of Asha is a compilation of photographs by the singer in her best moments, captured by photographer Gautam Rajadhyaksha. The photobook was released by the home minister, who is on a visit to Mumbai at Sahyadri Guest House. Ashish Shelar with his wife Pratima Shelar, Zanai, Anand Bhosle, Ameya Hete and Ankit Hete of Valuable Group, Prasad Mahadkar of Jeevan Gani were among the attendees of the occasion. Designer Nutan Ajgaonkar who crafted the book was also present there. The home minister and the veteran singer posed with the book, the Best of Asha together. In several pictures that are published, the duo was also seen conversing and enjoying the company of each other.

Asha Bhosle is known as one of the most successful female singers of Indian cinema. Her melodious voice and captivating singing qualities transcends industries as she sang in Bollywood, Bengali, and Tamil industries. Asha has recorded songs for films and albums in several Indian languages and received numerous awards in her career spanning over eight decades.
