BTS, a multi-dollar all-boys Koran group has always remained under the spotlight for their exotic performances. And, this time the group has seven members of the group has accompanied President Moon Jae-in of South Korea, who further designated them as special presidential representatives for the future generations as well as the culture.

The iconic Korean pop group BTS used their speech to promote awareness about the corona virus vaccine and applauded the young people for their resiliency in the face of the global pandemic as well as climate change. As per the reports, on Monday over one million people were transfixed by the United Nations amid the heavy clutches of the pandemic, the deadly storms exacerbated by climate change, and also the scary conflict in Afghanistan. And, to the surprise of all, this time not the head of state but the boy band, BTS took over!

Most popular for their dynamic dance moves, incredibly catchy lyrics, and fans who go freaky over their hit performances, the band promoted awareness and gave out a seven-minute speech at the United Nations headquarters in New York. The performance given out by the band came in just one day before more than 100 world leaders and representatives gathered for the opening of the General Assembly on Tuesday. This is an annual conclave that was held virtually last year because of the pandemic situation.

Accompanying President Moon Jae-in, BTS showed a video of their hit video ‘Permission to Dance’. The video showed the young crooners dancing and grooving in the empty aisles of the Assembly Hall where the autocrats and the presidents have lobbed threats of destruction and the diplomats have staged walkouts, and then later outside the complex. The band’s huge group of fans soon followed along intently on the United Nation’s YouTube they flooded a live chat with gushing messages, with many dropping purple heart emojis, that soon became their calling card.

BTS’s leader Kim Nam-joon who performs under the stage name RM (Rap Monster) said that they have all heard that people in their 20s today are being referred to as COVID-19’s lost generation and they still think that it’s just a stretch to say that they all are lost just because the path they choose cannot be seen by the grown-up eyes.

President Moon introduced the members of the band inside the cavernous hall where the group could be spotted wearing dark suits, lanyards with name tags, and lapel pins that promoted the U.N.’s Sustainable Development Goals campaign.

Furthermore, he added that BTS is an abbreviation of the Korean words Bangtan Sonyeondan, or Bulletproof Bouy Scouts and they are the artists who are most loved by people around the world.

However, this is not the first time when the band which is a dominant force in the Korean pop music scene has appeared at the United Nations. Back in 2018, BTS had visited the U.N. to help UNICEF promote Generation Unlimited, a campaign that was dedicated to educate young people and provide them vocational training.

The live stream on Monday on the U.N.’s YouTube channel surpassed over one million views and later in the day, the view count went up to six million.

One of the band’s members named J-hope said that there had been substantial speculation about whether or not the group had been vaccinated and added that all the seven members had been vaccinated.

He added that what is important are the choices that they make when they’re faced with change. And, of course, they all have received the vaccination. The vaccination was indeed a sort of a ticket to meet their fans who have been waiting for them and to be able to stand there before all of them.
