‘We were kids at the start, I guess we’re grown ups now. Couldn’t ever imagine even having doubts, but not everything works out.’

‘Bam Bam’, the latest song of Camila Cabello featuring Ed Sheeran too is not a typical breakup song. When the opening lines exhibit the unexpected termination of a relationship, the buoyant music from the acoustic guitar accompanied by the voice of Camila sounds optimistic.

This song reminds people of her 2019’s collaboration with Shawn Mends for the biggest hit song of the year Senorita. While the song was about the insatiable summer lust, this song ‘Bam Bam’ is about bittersweet separation.

Flamenco and catchy bass and rhythm of the guitar take command of the music. There is a delicate and effortless quality in the vice of Camila. Although melancholy is the subject matter of the song, the song quickly picks up happiness, hope, and acceptance.

Thereafter, the second hooks come and the song warms the ear with its catchy “Ba-da-bam-bam-bam-bam-bam”. Camila sings as she floats atop with the breezy instrumental of the song.

Then, Ed Sheeran jumps on to the song and sings, ‘It’s been a hell of a year, thank God we made it out. Yeah, we were riding a wave, and trying not to drown’, before they bridge the voices.

One of the most significant and noteworthy parts of the song- it has brought the rich and textured elements of Latin music into the mainstream pop song.

Camila commands, ‘Sigue Bailando!’, and Ed bounces back with the English version of the term, ‘keep Dancing!’ The energy of Ed Sheeran is unmatched. The song will be able to experience the listeners the feeling of the Sevillian side streets on a summer’s night. The vibe of the song is very contagious. The final chorus of the two sounds is dynamic and flourishing.

The song fulfills Camila’s precise set out for her upcoming studio album, Familia. Camila explained about it, “This whole album to me was inspired by two things: family and food. Your family by blood, but also your chosen family. Who do you want to break bread with? Who you want to sit at the dinner table with, cook a meal for, get wine drunk with, and dance in the living room with”.
