Taylor Swift offered a shout-out to Charlie Puth in her latest album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ and said that Puth deserves to be a bigger artist. And now, Charlie Puth is stepping into the game again. On Tuesday, May 21, the multi-talented singer declared his plan to release a brand new single which is titled “Hero”.
He also shared on Instagram that ‘Hero’ was inspired by the shout-out that is given by Swift. He wrote, “I’ve never put out a song like this before,” and further added, “It’s very different for me, but I want to thank @taylorswift for letting me know musically that I just couldn’t keep this on my hard drive any longer.”
The singer has also shared a cover art for the single which is a warm-hued photo where Puth could be seen lounging in a rose garden. He also shared, “My new song HERO is about when you see someone you love hurting themselves, ruining the things in their life that are good, but you just can’t save them.” He has also confirmed the release of an upcoming album as he said, “I’m very excited to share my next album with you, especially this song because it’s a great representation of what’s to come. HERO is yours on May 24th.”

This announcement follows the release of ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ where the lyrics follow “We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist,” on the title track. Puth teased ‘Hero’ on TikTok and said to his fans, “These last couple weeks have been really crazy for obvious reasons, but I wanted to share something with you.” The ‘See You Again’ singer also said, “Sometimes I get a little nervous being overly honest in my music which is why this was sitting on my hard drive for awhile.”
Puth continued, “But I think someone out there was giving me a sign that I needed to release it. So…. I declare ‘Hero’ will be out everywhere on May 24th as the first single of my new album. Thank you for your support…you know who you are.”
Charlie has not released any album since his last project in 2022, named ‘Charlie’. It peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard 200. Now it is time to see what wonders ‘Hero’ can make.
