Over the generations, Tony Bennett won the hearts of his fans and they are crooning “I Left My Heart in San Francisco.” This beloved singer left his heart on his 95th birthday on the stage of the Radio City Music Hall.
Bennett has performed with Lady Gaga before sold-out crowds in his two concert series in early August and that is considered as his final performance in New York. After six months of it, he and his family have revealed that he is suffering from Alzheimer’s.
Now it is a chance for the rest of the world to watch the show of a TV special on the August 3 “One Last Time: An Evening With Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga,” and it has aired on Sunday on the CBS channel.
He has sung his signature song with the addition of “Fly Me to the Moon” and “Steppin’ Out With My Baby”. He has also sung duets with Lady Gaga and the songs are “Love For Sale” and “Anything Goes.”
His family members have also confirmed that Sometimes Bennett does not know what is happening around him and where he is currently. However, in the concert of the TV special, this legendary did not miss a beat in his performances.
The fans were singing in chorus “New York, New York” before the entry of the legendary Bennett on the stage. Moreover, the legendary singer Lady Gaga also teared up and paused to talk about him.
Lady Gaga stated that he is her musical companion cum friend and she considers him as the greatest singer in the world. She has also counted on him in New York to make him smile. Therefore, she yielded to him to cheer, yell, laugh, cry and give his soul to his fan followers.
The audiences of The Radio City Music Hall help up until the end of the bargain. Before even singing a note, Bennett got a standing ovation from the audiences’ side and he gathered at least more than a dozen throughout the night.
