Delhi Court Finalizes The Divorce of Rapper Honey Singh and Wife Shalini Talwar

The divorce case of Punjabi singer and rapper Honey Singh and Shalini Talwar was hanging by a thread for over a year, and now the Delhi court has finalized their separation

This is official now; on the 7th of November, Tuesday Delhi family court granted the divorce between the singer and his wife Shalini Talwar. The popular Punjabi singer and rapper mostly known as Yo Yo Honey Singh has been accused of domestic violence. However, the court has granted their mutual settlement agreement and dissolved their marriage.

In 2021, Shalini Talwar accused him of domestic violence and lodged a complaint, the agreement also resolved all of their disputes. Paramjit Singh is the Principal Judge at the Saket Court Family Division. HE issued the decree following their mutual settlement agreement.

Last year in September Honey Singh paid his wife an amount of 1 crore in alimony for the divorce settlement. In 2021, Talwar accused the singer along with his family of causing damage to her mentally and emotionally. Along with the accusation of domestic violence, she also mentioned that the singer had a past criminal history of threats. He has caused harm and resorted to brutal violence against those who didn’t comply with his demands.


After the couple reached a settlement she withdrew every charge she had previously made against him. On Tuesday, the singer was asked by the judge whether he has any intentions of reconciling with his wife or he will make any attempts to engage with her in the future. To this, the singer stated that he has no intentions of reuniting with his wife.

According to reports Singh said, “There’s no further chance to live with his wife”. Yet the singer refused to disclose any further details stating that it is a private matrimonial dispute, and nothing else. Singh’s team of council included advocates Ishaan Mukherjee, advocates Amrita Chatterjee, and Jaspal Singh. On the other hand, Vivek Singh represented Shalini Talwar.


The couple first met in school and fell in love. They have dating for 10 years and secretly tied the knot in January 2011. They followed a traditional Sikh wedding ceremony at a Delhi farmhouse. Their rituals also included pheras in a gurdwara. The couple was married for 10 years after which things started to go south. First Shalini made accusations and then after a long 13 years, their marriage was dissolved.
