Dolly Parton has always followed her heart, whether it’s her singing or cracking jokes on stage. And now this brilliant persona has received the Bezos Courage and Civility Award from Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez.
While giving the award Sanchez said ‘Jeff [Bezos] and I are so proud to share that we have a new Bezos Courage and Civility Award winner — a woman who gives with her heart and leads with love and compassion in every aspect of her work’. she has shared a video of their speech on Instagram. She has also said ‘We can’t wait to see all the good that you’re going to do with this $100 million award, @DollyParton’.
Dolly has been selected for this honor for her huge contribution. She has been donating to various organizations for the last decade. During the pandemic, she donated $1 million to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s for vaccine research. That sum of money has also been used in the fund for Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine.
After receiving the award Dolly Parton said ‘I try to put my money where my heart is. I will do my best to do good things with this money, Thank you @JeffBezos #LaurenSanchez’.
She has added more by saying ‘I just felt so proud to have been part of that little seed money that will hopefully grow into something great and help to heal this world…I’m a very proud girl today to know I had anything at all to do with something that’s going to help us through this crazy pandemic’.

Dolly is a person who is the founder of the Dollywood Foundation. From this charity one can get access to any kind of book. She took the initiative to help out the children who cannot afford to buy books. With this foundation, one can get books from all around the world. she is also started Dolly Parton Scholarship. This scholarship has been started for children who are facing problem to do their higher education. A recipient would get $15000 for their college education.
Her dedication to helping out poor children with education is really admirable. Now she is also taking complete responsibility for tuition, books, and fees of employees who are willing to do their higher studies.
