Drake Premiered the Official Music Video for ‘Nokia’

It has been a long time since Drake did not receive positive limelight after the devastation Kendrick Lamar brought to his musical career with a diss track ‘They Not Like Us’. The rapper has finally managed to come up with an official music video for the track ‘Nokia’. The MV features a monochromatic bnw $ome $exy $ongs 4 U clip which is directed by his long-time collaborator Theo $$$kudra.

The music video also features a group of carnival dancers who represent the city of Toronto. Drake made sure to put some NBA references by featuring Canadian point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in the music video.

The collaborative project between Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR, ‘$ome $exy $ongs 4 U’ was released last month and the album project is not gaining much attention as Drake has hit rock bottom. He has recently filed a federal defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group. However, UMG claimed that Drake has deliberately ‘provoked’ and participated in the feud with rapper Kendrick Lamar which led to the consequence that everybody already knows. He also had to settle his dispute with the iHeartRadio as he previously claimed that they were paid by UMG for promoting the track ‘Not Like Us’ which exposed the dark and disgusting truth of Drake’s personal life.

Since Drake was unable to rise to fame again after his ‘Minor’ activities, he decided to feature Shai Gilgeous-Alexander out NBA to gather more attention. This Oklahoma City Thunder star has recently come to the spotlight after his wonderful performance at the game.

However, this can be also a marketing stunt for the NBA as Drake is also the global ambassador for the Toronto Raptors and an avid basketball fan. This is not the first time but Drake has featured basketball players in his music videos who are the MVPs for the projects.

The carnival-themed music video and its IMAX representation of a black and white video appear to be quite cinematic and exciting. It also features a retro Nokia flip phone and Gilgeous-Alexander could be seen appearing in a stylish Vaffanculo jacket along with his new signature Converse sneakers, the SHAI001.

Perhaps, Drake is trying to get more cultural influence by bringing in the basketball players and black personas who have no charges like he does.
